The current Polo is similar in size to a Mk4 Golf, the fact that it's still considered a "small" car speaks volume about the SUV craze of the past decade

"VAG surpasses all manufacturers with their electronics in their economy models" and you pay dearly for that. Everything you see in the video is optional, even the climate controls! A reasonably specced Polo costs more than your average golf. A comparable golf will cost more, but you get a slightly higher quality interior and more features and the difference in price is really not that big.

@@Progan666 the cost of the options on the Polo is very cheap. Double zone automatic climate control is 200euros, lumbal support less then 100 euros, digital cluster-!ative info display 250euro, metalic paint 250euro etc. Very cheap options in comparison for example with Renault Clio - 600euros for the metalic paint!!!

I have the same version but with a manual gearbox and must agree with everything you said. I do not have the Beats edition so the boot is good for me. 4 grown man can drive in it with comfort especialy if you have the Highline seats which are longer and have better side support. The average consumption for the fitst 3000km on mine is 5.9liters per 100km. Pretty good and overall very satisfied with how the car drives and handles on the road. Much better then my previod petrol Golf mk6 but a bit less comfortable on bumps.

Only on the interior package which you can only get as a combination with the external package. You can either do external R line or external+internal R line

Each (!) ignition process reduce engine's lifetime. It's physics. Each ignition process equals to a couple driven kilometres.

Thinking that way, you should probably leave your car running while going shopping etc. Each *cold* start has increased wear, but start/stop only kicks in with a warm and lubricated engine. There's only more stress on the starter and battery but those are reinforced on S/S cars. Wear is negligible.

You save fuel and money with start stop system. Even if something breaks down faster because of it (alternator for example) you can replace it with the money you saved (and someone is payed to produce the alternator so more jobs are open) and you have not polluted the enviroment with burning extra fuel! Also you can brag about how economical your car is :)) So a win win situation in every aspect

Thomas' point was that the ISS has been primarily designed purely for financial reasons that benefit the manufacturer - not the end user. Your circumstances sound very unique and of course would benefit if idling for 10 minutes - the majority of consumers around the world however are exposed to stop/start traffic that crawls along, where you would barely stop for more than a minute, but your ISS system would activate more than 10 times in say 5 minutes, which as mentioned not only has been proven to wear out parts, they also cause more wear overall. It is great that you have not has any problems, but many, many consumers out there do unfortunately have to replace many parts (starter motors, batteries, relays, flywheels, and much more). Comments that state the money a driver would save in fuel can then be used to buy a battery or starter motor if it fails prematurely are blissful ignorance......they are not winning, they lose by spending the saved money! I mean, how simple can it be to understand this??? They also forget that to manufacture the parts impacts our environment as well, it can cost more to extract these materials than it does to spend on fuel........ again a lose-lose situation for mother nature ;) Engineers, finance departments and R&D know very well that these parts do fail and that means more $$$ for them. Please do not forget that manufacturer's are here to make money - not save the planet. They always have and always will have this as a goal. Do you know where most profit is generated for automotive/motorcycle/truck companies? It comes from the PARTS department in after-sales....not from the profit of units sold. I just want you to be well aware, from someone who has worked in the corporate and factory of some manufacturers ;) * One question - which vehicle are you referring to has 'active parts' ? Oh, and what an awesome car the Polo is!!!!

Roads and parking spaces have mostly been modernized and so there is no point in having an 80's kind of small car anymore. It's unsafe and cramped.

Oooo you are so wrong. The interior quality between the ibiza and the polo IS HUGE. Skoda Fabia is strangely better build then the Ibiza too. I test drove both and went with an idea to get the Ibiza FR but boy I was so disappointed. I got my Polo Highline at the end.

I have exactly opposite experiance with VW dealers and cars. Exceptional in comparison too many other car dealers. Also you may waste the money saved from start stop on repeara but at least wont pollute the air with extra fuel burned and that is still a BIG plus in my book ;)
