@hashrulsubzero This is chassis 0, which is the very first Polo WRC prototype. Chassis 1 is the first proper Polo WRC and VW did make changes to the gearbox and suspension and various things that have not been disclosed.
@bwickham195 The idea is to keep the turbo spinning fast when the throttle valve is closed or when engine is at low RPM. This enables boost availability at low RPM throttle-brake transitions and improves torque. Typical solution is to bypass engine, feed charge air directly into the exhaust manifold (turbo casing) and inject fuel late. The partially burned rich fuel-air mixture meets with the fresh charge air inside the manifold, giving further combustion, raising P and keeping turbo alive
@blackness010 Its still in the early stages of development, the car you see here is a prototype of early ideas without driver input tweaking, they are testing to get better handling, center of balance, throttle response etc
@GT5Guides One of the nicest current era WRC cars! Its subtle but sporty, i find the DS3 a bit too tame and the Fiesta a bit too "festive", the Mini needs some work looks-wise but the Polo is stylin.
@electrolove87x I can agree with you on one point, that old rally cars owned their characteristic sounds which couldn't not be confused in any way...but from here to state that all cars sound the same, No way!
Ford sold more Fiestas when we did Polos last year? Let's go WRC, should help :) Anyway, after seeing near perfect Audi from LeMans i think this might get perfect in a few years...
@electrolove87x how much do you want to bet that YOU wouldn't recognise with 100% sure if it was a Fiesta,DS3 or the Polo with a black screen???... only the MINI as a characteristic sound, that even, if you can see it you know its a MINI, just like the Quattro, 6R4, Stratos and so on... thats the point of my previous comment... - -'
