I decided to try and make my own sliding door storage panel for my vw T5(as there very expensive to buy,£180 or so)so had ago first.Got the materials I needed to do the job…..I think the whole thing cost me about a tenner to make plus my time,so a good saving.So I hope this video inspires you to have ago at making one yourself,and if it does please leave a comment below I’d love to know ect.As always stay safe everyone take care!

You're right with the thickness of the plywood it does rub against the outside of the van👍

Off course l'm watching... I've been going back through your previous videos and looking for other idea's 😁. TBH I'm not a DIY'er the wife doesn't even let me hang a picture up l'm that bad🤣🤣 l'm one of those guy's who just buggers things up when l try to do something myself and the job end's up costing me more😩👎 love the way your not scared to give things a go/and being able to have a wee giggle ....... Good job BTW. Defo interested in the badge l love it the R type is super too you should definitely get the product out there for sale. One for the back of the vehicle would be smart as well.... Not notice any difference John really,I’ll tweak it a bit here and there anyway pal……I’m always messing and trying to find ways to make stuff out of nothing lol

Hi Danny,didn’t know if I could pull this off but thought give it ago…..still working well looks like the real thing,I think the plastic one is well over £150 lol

@@dannystrange7202 lolol are they that much now(wow)……brown paper and pva go rock solid Danny,I’ve not had a problem with any damp in my van but for you or anyone reading this…..a top tip if you are worried it might get damp on the inside of the doorcards,you could buy a can of something called plastidip(it’s a rubber based paint)you can stray it on anything,that would 100% stop any moisture….but I’ve never had any issues👍😉

Cool idea to use PVA and brown paper.. How has this held up? I've just pulled mine off and replaced/fixed handle & cleaned rollers and locks, works better now than when I bought the van 15 years ago! Interested in doing something like this.. Cheers

Hi calem,really appreciate you watch first of all and commenting…..the storage panel is totally fine,no sages or fallen apart(still as strong as the day I made it.To a lot of people it might seem strange to make it that way….but them two together makes a very strong structure.The good thing is it cost me nothing to build just time,I already had the carpet lying around👍😉

My sliding door catches the body work always has,got afew plans for the van so will be back on with you tube videos again soon…..not made any for awhile 👍😉

@@CampervanAdventures I spent probably 3 hours cleaning and figuring the mechanism out. It's a 1 finger close job now. Looking forward to come new videos mate. Cheers
