Great video. Really enjoyed the cold hard reality of car work on the driveway hitting home when it starting to rain!! Loved that you carried on and got your daughter to hold the umbrellla!!!Thanks!
Nice video bro!! Re-adjusting the handbrake was something that i might would not think of.. Probapely i think i did something wrong haha.. Let's make it happen with my t5 tomorrow !
thanks for the video, ... the tool to compress and rotate the piston back into the cylinder only goes clockwise....your caption states anti, clockwise for the right...if you went anticlockwise you would bring the cylinder out and eventually pop out your seals from the bore
Thanks for feedback. Correct and you can't turn the piston the wrong way and pop the seals as it's ratcheted from the handbrake cable lever. You can do it 👍
great thank you i done it myself . one problem is that i put a tiny split in the bit of rubber around the piston when i wound it back . is it possible to change this rubber?
Thanks for the info. Tis Silicon grease for the sliding pins so the rubber seals aren't affected. Also, how about undoing the bleed nipple a little to push the brake piston in more easily. Catch the brake fluid obviously? Regards Stephen
Undoing the bleed nipple can lead to air in the system unless you can do all things at the same time. Thats why they make special tools to push the piston back. You can do it.
@@YoucandoitwithJules Surely if you open the nipple sufficiently & push the piston back slightly fluid will flow out of the nipple which will prevent air entering. Quickly tighten the nipple when you have stopped pushing the piston. Worked for me.
That's was a 2009. All the same. Haven't got the details at hand. If you order some and they fit a T5 then you are good to go. Hope this helps. You can do it 👍
Just one thing on the slide pins most people put copper grease on the pin thats wrong as the rubber boot will expand with petroleum based product Silicone grease is the correct one to use
Just safety in case someone has put it in gear to stop the car rolling as they have no hand brake while they are replacing the pads and then forget it's in gear and start the engine up. You can do it 👍
