VW Thing EV Conversion Ep01 EV Show 

Hey, thanks for the feedback. We have some good mics from doing the show previously, but have decided that in order to be able to film and post on a weekly basis we'd have to cut some corners. One of those was multi-track editing. We hope we can get it a bit better without going to a wireless setup, but we're hoping an easier setup will mean continuous videos. Perhaps the solution is insulating the shop better? Another video coming next Thursday.

@@EVWest it depends what kind of cameras are you using. Does it have a mic input? You can use 1 or 2 wireless mic's, and hardware mixer.

EV West I understand your situation, you’re trying to get work done and putting Mike’s on and then taking them off all day long makes it impossible to get anything done. I think the solution is a compromise, the camera operator could use a shotgun microphone, they are highly directional you point them at the person talking and you can hear them clearly.

We sell a 930CV flange for the Tesla motor. This allows off the shelf CVs and axles, you just buy the outer 930 flange from EMPI. It's a very easy swap.

Thanks for the feedback, we talked about the mics in other comments but basically are trying to get videos out faster with less emphasis on lighting, mics, etc.... I think it's what killed the show before, so we're trying a different approach so please bear with us. Thanks.

No active cooling in this pack. It's a coastal car (moderate ambient temps), and output power will be reduced, and pack temps will be monitored through the BMS to keep it within a safe range.

We like to use Wurth CU800.

I imagine once the vehicle is back down on the ground and the suspension is loaded, the angle is a lot less extreme.

The angle is a bit more extreme than extreme than we like due to the larger tire and lift, but 930's can take it.

@@cobralyoner such a good troll you are,, but really the audio is terribly off putting, the microphones i mentioned are 10$ each and they really do up the video quality considerably, thus paying for them selves on the returns end of a video.

Thanks for the feedback. We know the audio sounds poor in the shop, but lab mics, and long editing projects kept us from weekly updates previously, so for this run we're trying something new. We have some ideas to improve it, but none involve lab mics just yet.

Thanks for the feedback, we covered this in another topic, but we wanted to keep the show easy to produce on a weekly basis. We hope to improve the quality without using lavs.
