I did the same ElectroAuto conversion on my 914 back in 2009. I just spent the winter upgrading the pack to 6 Tesla Model S modules, but I left the motor and Curtis controller alone. The final effort was getting it imported into Spain. Now I really want to swap out the NetGain for a Model 3 motor/controller! I have to re-watch the rest of the series and get my drool towel ready.
Luv the green theme.......totally suits you since the person that set your prices is high.........come on 21k for a conversion kit for a gia that only has such a tiny range and 8 hrs to charge......lol get real
What ever happened to seeing what it looked like in the car🤦🏻♂️ I literally have no idea what I just watched & with no introduction this was like “WHHAATTT” lol Great video… am sure but for the wide array-audience this is a 👎🏼 for me
We only see you and your arms pointing to something -- which we cant figure out what? ? ? Hurray to you and your arms ! ! ! ALLL THE BEST OF LUCK TO EV WEST!
Has he mentioned the driving range of these conversions at all ? Also with the gap between the electric motor in the back and his control box in the boot how sure is the waterproofing ? Yes EV's are instantly fast but also drain fast then spend at lease 20-45 mins somewhere charging ? Ask the Tesla drivers in Chicago how much they love their EVs... lol . I'd probably buy a hybrid in the future but hey dont be surprised one day they stop liquid fuels .... lol... After all that is our govts plan .....
Burnouts are as stupid as burning fossil fuels. With electric drivetrain it is finally possible to get all the torque into the ground and push the vehicle forward.
I’d love to have an electric adventure van. Reminds me of the solar van Route del Sol. I really enjoyed following him. It is too bad he is all done with his adventures. Did you ever finish this build?
World's fastest battery powered device, with the acoustic appeal of a dentist's drill. When it's close enough to hear anything. When it is you wish it wasn't, mind you. Watching EV's make runs on the salt flats, is comparable to being at a rock concert, where the visual performance seems normal, their movements on stage, the instrumentals, the vocals, everything you expect to see. EXCEPT...... Where's the SOUND? The AUDIO? The ACOUSTICS? It's like the band is taking the piss, after taking too much drugs, and hatching a plot to freak out the audience. MIMING their performance for all they're worth, PRETENDING to be unaware instruments & microphones are unplugged, amplifiers are switched off, speaker stacks are silent & still, at the expense of fans who bought expensive tickets to the show. And are seeing what they expect to see. But are unfulfilled & unimpressed, that it's only FIFTY PERCENT of the experience they want & paid for. NO amount of drugs would stop the band eventually realising they're making no sound, if they WERE theoretically unaware. Perhaps it's a covert government "Partial Sensory Deprivation" experiment on the public, with the initially hostile band getting onboard after negotiating a lifetime supply of drugs? POINT BEING.... The visuals are only half the show. Witnessing the spectacle of a racer chasing the horizon, and maybe a record, blasting across the salt flats on a wide open "throttle".... Is fine in isolation, if you're deaf. Hearing & feeling the spectacle of the full spectrum of noises & sounds, that accompany what your eyes are seeing, in synchronicity..... Is much better, if you're not. That's why "Formula E" is intolerable. Acoustically, it's like watching 24 Dentist's Drills compete on a racetrack. Close your eyes, and you might get flashbacks to your last Root Canal. Like EV's in ANY form or class of racing or competition, what you DON'T HEAR is the sound of RACING. The REAL sound, of REAL vehicles burbling at idle, hammering under hard acceleration, wailing at full throttle, induction roar booming off buildings, spitting flames on the overrun, the piercing, deafening shriek of a straight-cut gearbox assaulting the senses. The goosebumps. The shivers down the spine. Unless you're deaf, EV's ALWAYS rob you of HALF the joy of driving vehicles, racing vehicles, observing vehicles, and generally enjoying ANY ownership or interaction with vehicles. Either you can't hear them at all. Or, you hear what sounds like kitchen appliances, dentist's drills, food processors, electric shavers, but NOTHING righteous, rebellious, appropriate, or pleasing reminiscent of PROPER cars & motorcycles. To the extent that I don't believe EV's even deserve to qualify as vehicles, and don't acknowledge them as such. You can convert almost ANY internal combustion engine to burn Hydrogen, so the only emission from the exhaust is steam, or water vapour if you will. So, why not have your cake and eat it? Enjoy the FULL experience of sights & sounds of internal combustion goodness, without environmental concerns or guilt. Rather than the unacceptable, unforgivable, irreconcilable compromise EV's always imply & impose. I'll never understand how EV's appeal to anyone. Their presence denies half the joy of vehicles. They should all be cut in half, to represent that. Or, given to freaks who enjoy them, I guess. The constitution enshrines everyone's right to Freedom of Choice. Even EV lovers.
Ruining one Classic at a time. Those burn outs have not anything to do with the basic EV idea of being nice to the environment. Hippocrates all the way
