THANK YOU, Edge Motors....you took 50 minutes off my fuel filter flange job! You are the ONLY one on the internet, suggesting this method. I approve!!!!
Hi, Great video! Could you point me to where I could buy the filter cartridge? I'm not getting much luck with Googling the numbers on the cartridge in the video. Thanks!
Good video. But i wouldn't use electric power tools near that tank man. It's driven by brushed motor and the carbon contacts make sparks. Safety first.
Why is he in such a hurry? Working on a very dangerous place in the car, I thought he should be very careful and calm for the viewers since they were trying to learn something new? But nice video. Thank you
It took a few days for my new filter to arrive, I have now put the new filter in but I can not get it to start, I am thinking that the fuel lines now have an air blockage, where is the best spot to bleed the system of air?
Hello, I have an Audi Q7 2008 and it's leaking fuel. I detest my Audi dealership here in Cincinnati. How will I know if when I take my car to an auto mechanic it;s the fuel pump? Thanks
Hey, good advice, I have a q7 model 2009 petrol 3.6l, someone had modified the fuel pump and I need to replace it. On the rightside below passenger sit has fuel pump and on left side it has filter,My question is,how many fuel pump is recommended? 2 or 1?
Im trying to figure out weather its my filter or I have water in the gas. It was running fine up intil today. I turn it on, no issues than after 30 seconds or more...it starts to shake as if wants to shut down. I hit the gas but its like my it doesnt have power or fuel. again, it feels like its going to shut down. It did shut down on me twice today prior to me thinking it was the filter.. I called my mechanic and asked about it he said try adding fuel injector cleaner and premium gas from another station.
Hi , great video . Do u have any idea on VW TOUAREG 2.5 Diesel, 2005 model? I noticed few days ago that my car is taking longer time to heat up it happened the fan wasn't picking and coolant level was below minimum. I bought coolant filled it up to max. yet the fan is not picking. ANY IDEA PLEASE? Thanks.
Your video is very good in my opinion but you neglected to mention the part number of the replacement filter... and you moved the filter so fast I cant get a clear pic of the number. 😢
hello friend, this excellent video, I'm about to make the replacement of components. but I was wondering if you can give me the name of the tool you use to remove the screws from the base of the seats, listen to some triple square but it is not clear. the problem is that my English is very bad. I hope not to offend with the question of truth rather help me. greetings and success. Robert.
hello, excellent tutorial, could you tell me some number, serial code or brand, to find this filter and change it ?, I am in Panama City, Panama country ... thanks
Is this video related to the fuel pump replacement? ie. - Did you discover in testing the replacement that there was still a lack of fuel pressure and therefore replaced the filter?
no. you must replace fuel filter every time you replace a fuel pump. in our case, dirty fuel filter most likely was contributing to the problem, however both pumps must flow the same and one was way out. and due to the fact that both pumps pump through the same filter, we could rule out that one pump did have a problem as it was off by 200ml. if we would of replaced just the filter, the flow might of go up a bit, but still would be off.
Good day. Thanks for the video. Please tell me, and all the Tuareg collapsible filter cover? I saw online that people have bought this filter could not be replaced as it has the filter housing is sealed and gasketed. I have a 2004 Touareg from Canada, I think to replace yourself as You are,but have any doubt about housing. thank you.
Do yourself a favor, buy original filter, with housing... We had bunch of problems with vdo filter... And make sure to mark all the hoses that you disconnect, as they could be misplaced easily...
My car is leaking fuel. When I unscrew the metal lid I see how gas has been running over the housing and found it's way out somehow underneath the car there is still gas on the outside part on the white housing area.. do I need to replace the white housing part or could it be something else ? also where can I get that part ? Thanks for the great video btw
well, you have to check and find the exact spot where its leaking from, i highly doubt that the flange it self is cracked.... there might be a leak from one of the lines. check and see the spot. if the flange is damaged, the right side comes along just the flange, but the left side comes with fuel filter, and thats a bit pricey....
EDGEMOTORS hi,I follow the steps that you gave I replace the filter but when I try to turn it on it does not want to start. Do you think I did something wrong? What do you recommend me to do?
+EDGEMOTORS thanks great video I have a 2007 Audi Q7 and almost all stuff was the same. My car ran for 5 minutes and cut off and is not starting. Any ideas?
Alot of 2004 and up models have a recall on the fuel flange. One of the signs it was failing was leaking gas or the smell of it. That's probably your problem.
I just had the low fuel pressure sensor replaced on a 2008 Touareg V6. Could this have been caused by a dirty fuel filter all along? The car runs fine, just threw the code for the sensor.
I have gas smell last two months. Now I have gas dripping out the bottom of my car. 2004 VW Touareg V6. Are there two fuel filters, one each side? If so I think only the left side, behind the drivers seat is leaking. I lifted the seats and the carpet had not yet been cut I have 140K. I assume this means the filters have never been changed. Should I change both sides? also my 4 pin connector seal on top of the cover has a seal that has been eaten away can this seal be replaced individually or will the whole connecter have to be replaced and rewired? Thanks
well open both access doors to both pumps and see which one is leaking, there is only one filter. the seal you have to get with connector, but you can swap only the seal...
EDGEMOTORS I bought a full $150 fuel filter and housing. The fuel lines are empty as a result. After I did the replacement with an empty tank of gas, I put everything back together and filled the tank with 5 gal from a gas can. I then tried to start the car and it started and ran for 15-30 seconds and then died. I dont know whats up? Will the fuel system self prime?
do you have to change it regularly? I have V6 3.6 toaureg2 with 99k miles and never change the fuel filter, I use 93 gas all the time and the engine/fuel system is working fine, should I change it considering how long it have been used? what are the possible signs that can indicate I should replace it? Thanks to anyone who replies
***** you should change the fuel filter at-list every 50k but it all depends on the gas you put in there.... ive seen filters clog up after 15k when used a cheap gas stations....
I got one of the cheap aftermarket housings It came broken, so back to searching. I think this part number MAHLE W0133-1769130 is the right one, Its 60 bucks online best price. I am going to see if a friend can order through his shop. I know i'm late but for people in the future.
The new updated VDO units Porsche, Audi and VW will be receiving are sealed. There are no screws to disassemble and remove the filter anymore. The new flange dome is black, while the lower portion is white.
