I'm originally from NYC and when I attended college in Baltimore is when I was really exposed to GoGo. To be honest, back then, we New Yorkers were so heavy into Hip Hop and R&B that many of us didn't appreciate other music genres. I didn't like GoGo at all, but now that I'm older and wiser and my ear is tuned much differently, I can appreciate GoGo music and salute to DC for introducing GoGo to many people who are not originally from the DMV.

Gogo has ALWAYS been around from Spike Lee Doing the Butt, Salt & Pepper Shake Ya Thing, DJ Cool Let Me Clear My Throat & other songs that had that Gogo influence, but like house music it's not mainstream but certain songs slide thru that people love..

I grew up in the 70 and 80s in DC and I was so used to RE, EU and Troublefunk but this Vybe band is awesome. I just wish this was longer and they would have picked more songs. I always loved when RE would redo a song, they played for hours and if you got your hands on a PA tape, like when Lil Benny got into that fight, that was classic. I think the female and band did a great job and they surely nailed this song with the rhythm, venue, groove and everything, just wish it was longer. I didn't care for the next song they sang but I did try to see if the female was in more clips, couldn't find her in any more.
@chucksgamingchannel4768 yeah, they were around, I remember the first time I saw them, they were beating on buckets when I transferred on Penn Ave, I was like who the hell....later then went on to a serious band. I did like them. I also didn't mentioned Ayre Rayde, which I love, I went to Suitland and they played in the courtyard at lunch.

I moved up to the dmv in 2010 and came back down south a gogo girl and been hooked ever since. South Carolina in the house I love gogo and they do t play it much but there has been times I heard a few songs on the radio and at the club ❤❤❤ya lit with it tho.

Out of countless shows, I've maybe had some static about my race like... twice. And it didn't even turn into anything, just people talking shit. If I had to describe the scene in general terms, I'd say it was either overtly welcoming, or people just there to hear some music and dance and not worry about no racial politics.
I been listening to gogo all my life I'm now 57years old and this is so wonderful to here so I just want thank you LL for doing this and I can't wait to here the next thing you come out with. Piegeorge d.c for life
