I just bought my daughter a double horn and she doesn't know it yet. It's going to be a surprise. I often surprise her with new instruments. I see a lot of women playing the French horn, so I think she will be in good company.
As an intermediate horn player learning this piece, this helps a ton to be able to hear a master play this piece. I'm in awe and incredibly excited to play this piece!
I heard this first when I was about 5 years old. I fell in love with it right then. The time I believe I heard it performed best was in a concert hall in Graz, Austria. I still love this piece. Out of all the great composers, I love Mozart the best.
Wow, I have been playing french horn for about 5 1/2 years now, and am going to audition for the Boise you philharmonic, and that is want i want my audition piece to be.
Bobo Dieter Not on the French Horn you don't, especially that fast. The harmonics are so close together, it'd be easier to lip trill than to even try to trill with the valves.
In all honesty, I'm 100% woodwind, but french horn just... I don't even know, I might cross over. French horn and flute are my top favorite instruments, their sound is mesmerizing and it just leaves you in a trance, so pleasant to hear. I play bass clarinet (bass isnt bad, but I'm torn with my bari sax) Anyways, Baborak, my God, that's all I have to say.
The Horn takes years of practice and work. It won't sound good till then 😂 if you're willing. I love this instrument, but it's annoying taking all the heat that I suck in my band lol and I practice an hour and 30 minutes a day minimum!
I could play like that if I was 100000 times better, if I practiced 26 hours a day, had the guy as my french horn teacher, and if I was Jesus Christ, miracle worker from Gaillee. Almost there! XD
Mozart , Mozart and Mozart . When all sounds in the universe fade away , nothing will remain but the muziek of Mozart. With my respect for all other great composers .
Okay, I was second chair french horn in high school under the instruction of the amazing Robert Sheldon. But there is NO WAY I could've done even half as good as this genius!! 😮 (For the record, I graduated high school in 1997. I was renting my french horn from the school. I cried when i had to give it back after graduation. 😅)
I've always found the sound of the french horn to be likened to that of an aristocratic poet, with a bit of high brow humor thrown in. Marvelous performance.
