Kissin proving he is far more than just a spectacular virtuoso. His sympathetic performance is fully matched by the LSO with Colin Davis in one of his last recordings, showing all his wisdom.
Not even far. When he was very young he was genius, but he didn't mature much since. Technically is very good, but increased mannerisms, lack of structure vision and none of unique sound, like all the great pianists. He is a very serious pianist but never passed beyond correctness, in my opinion.

what an extraordinary agogic! Kissin emphasizes notes and certain phrasings and when he plays "piano" his "piano" is so expressive that hardly you can heard something similar by other pianists
As to Kissin being agogic - I have noticed this before. There is some music that he gives "form" to. Some music that does not seem "phrased" that he subtly phrases. And you think, "Jeez, that sounds like the way it was supposed to be played." It is a positive thing for me. He knows the music well enough that he now is interpreting it in intelligent, mature ways. --- Per quanto riguarda Kissin essere agogico - ho notato questo prima. C'è della musica a cui dà "forma". Alcune musiche che non sembrano "formulate" che lui sottilmente pronuncia. E pensi, "Cribbio, sembra il modo in cui dovrebbe essere giocato". È una cosa positiva per me. Conosce abbastanza bene la musica che ora la interpreta in modi intelligenti e maturi.
Es cierto lo que le oí decir hoy a un musicólogo en un programa musical de Radio Nacional Argentina (El jardín de las delicias). Dijo y estoy de acuerdo, que Mozart se puso serio en el concierto N° 24, y que en comparación a los anteriores y a los posteriores, es como una bisagra en su trabajo para conciertos de piano. Es un concierto maravilloso, uno de mis preferidos como así también la interpretación excelente de Kissin.

Obrigado pela referência, não conhecia a obra. Desde que li Fausto, há 15 anos, minha percepção sobre literatura mudou completamente. Goethe está no panteão dos gênios e suas obras impactam a alma de qualquer leitor. Já encomendei na Amazon!
Es difícil elegir el más bello de los conciertos de Mozart ¿el 24? Y qué decir de las versiones ¿Uchida, Kissin, Grinberg? Mozart siempre escribe entre las estrellas.
It was the haunting final variation of the third movement. Kissin captures its pathos very well here, as does Perahia in another performance on RU-vid. Most pianists seem to take it a bit faster, and I feel this misses something.
+Lis Cena Thank you. I didn't know that. He certainly embellished the actual text of some (l heard his K456 version recently). Brahms wrote cadenzas for this and the G major I think.
Glenn Gould plays the Hummel Cadenza, and if you didnt heard the 491 from Gould, you MUST hear it..its a genious interpretation! but not the live-version on youtube.. the recording with the cbc Orchestra and W. Susskind...
