My fave too. After Headless, the first 3 are next grouped tightly together. Beyond that, Crimson Idol then the rest which I haven't given enough listens to rank.
I know Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a trick to log back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot my password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me!
The Headless Children The Last Command W.A.S.P Inside the Electric Circus The Crimson Idol I need more time with the last 20 years but I like most of what I've heard. Great band!
Great ranking ! I love your #1 , easily one of my favourite albums of all time ! Got to see them twice back in the day , first was in ‘84 they opened for Krokus & second time was in ‘87 on the Inside The Electric Circus Tour ! I’m happy I got to see them with my favourite two lineups , pays to be old(er) sometimes lol . I might take a shot at ranking these myself ! Great job as usual 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Wow, I've never seen anybody rank Inside The Electric Circus this high! Cool, hahah. As a teen ( I'm probably a bit older than your dad, lol ) I taped a few songs from that record off the radio in '86. Yup, the radio, here in Finland. When hard rock ruled the world! 😃 My introduction to W.A.S.P was listening to my little brother's tape of the debut, on *August 17th 1985*. The date is in my calendar from that year so I didn't have to go by my memory on that one. I Wanna Be Somebody was the coolest song for a teenage girl just getting into hard rock and heavy metal at the time - I used to sing along to that tune in front of my mirror, pretending to be a rock star. Those were the days! For Christmas '85 I did the smart thing and bought my brother The Last Command ( on vinyl ) as a present - I think I ended up listening to it more than he did, lol. Remember the cover art and the inside sleeve very well. Like your channel. Rock on!! 🤘
Wow, man. I respect your opinion and all but I frickin' love Golgotha. I think it's one of their best. Thanks for the post. I agree that Wild Child is their best tune. Used to play that with my band - a lot of fun.
I saw W.A.S.P. in 1984 (first album), opening for KISS. They blew KISS away. Lights go down, The Doors song "The End" is playing. But it's the version from the film Apocalypse Now. Sounds like helicopters are directly overhead. Last song, a million feathers are dumped over the audience. The 1980s ruled. You will never know what you missed. Rock on, Dude! Great channel. Thanks for carrying the metal torch into the next generation.
#1 W.A.S.P. #2 The Last Command. I tried to get into electric circus and thought it was subpar compared to the other prior albums. What am I missing since you're the bigger fan and put it at #2? Love that you finally got to W.A.S.P.!!!! Love the list!
I had a W.A.S.P. birthday party when I was 12 haha Cool list 👍 For me it's a tie between the debut & 'The Last Command', Blackie was tough on bass & the twin axe attack with Chris Holmes & Randy Piper was the business 👌
BLACKIE= underrated IMO. Six feet 5 inches = big dude. Tremendous baseball player, near Pro level. Like your 1-3. But will say both those 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣4️⃣albums NEON GODS , I played to death when came out. As usual, your show was tremendous. Keep it up 👍 💯
I missed out on WASP in the 80's ... let's just say it didn't go well with church camp. But I like them now and didn't realize the credibility their music had to go with all the controversy. Yours is the best WASP video I've seen since Razorfist's Metal Mythos on WASP \m/ \m/
Very true!! Bryce and Razorfist are the best ones that really 'get it' and have a genuinely respectable opinion of WASP! And both mention the extra crispy "Chris Holm's guitar tone". Casual or radio only listeners don't catch all the complexities and subtleties of all individual instrumentation that make up a song.... Great list and channel, newly subscribed here!!🤘🤘
I'm surprised you rank Golgotha so low. I don't think there are any weak songs on it and the title track is absolutely riveting, at least, in my opinion. 'Eyes of my Maker' is really powerful as well, I think.
These kids today have a problem with God and religion. Not all, but a lot. Golgotha is one of Wasp best, if not the best. The songs are powerful and the messages are clear enough. Blacky is trying to wake these people up, to something, that even he himself at one time turned his back on. He has even said that he is getting older and he has a fear for his soul, because of the life he has lived. The song Golgotha itself is a heavy message. Jesus died for us and through his blood, we are saved.
I was into W.A.S.P. through the Headless Children album then they lost me. Two things about them, they always had excellent B-sides to their singles and they were great at doing covers. The B-sides I have are "Show No Mercy" B-side of "Animal", "Paint It Black" on the "School Daze" single, "Mississippi Queen" which is on the "Wild Child" The Wild Remix 12" single, "Savage" on the "Blind In Texas" single, "Flesh + Fire" on the "95-Nasty" single, "Locomotive Breath" and "For Whom The Bell Tolls" from the "Mean Man" single, & "Lake Of Fools" and "War Cry" from "The Real Me" Shaped Picture single. All great songs. Great video Bryce.
Now I know how hardcore star wars OT/prequel fans feel when people say the other is better I felt intense, impotent rage seeing KFD at the bottom and still not black enough above the crimson idol 😭😭😭 great video though thanks 4 the challenge 👍 1. THE CRIMSON IDOL (my favorite album ever by anyone) 2. KILL.FUCK.DIE. 3. THE NEON GOD (was meant to be a double album) 4. THE HEADLESS CHILDREN 5. INSIDE THE ELECTRIC CIRCUS - we agree it's great :D 6. W.A.S.P. 7. UNHOLY TERROR 8. DYING FOR THE WORLD 9. STILL NOT BLACK ENOUGH 10. GOLGOTHA 11. HELLDORADO 12. THE LAST COMMAND (I like this one as much as everyone else does I just love the others more than most do) 13. DOMINATOR 14. BABYLON (love it just wish there was a little more, and it's shorter + 2 covers)
15-Helldorado 14-Still not black enough 13-Unholy terror 12-Babylon 11-Golgotha 10-Dominator 9-The Neon God part.II 8-The Neon God part.I 7-Dyng for the world 6-Kill Fuck Die 5-Headless children 4-W.A.S.P. 3-The last command 2-The eternal Idol 1-Inside the electric circus
My top 5 5. Circus 4. Last Command 3. Crimson 2 WASP 1 Headless Wasp are in my top 5 favorite bands of all time. Its weird being 27 and liking all the 80s metal. Thanks for telling me about the band Toxik Bryce think this was on repeat a lot last year and a bit this year.
The vinyl of "Live in the Raw" has a few more songs than the CD -- "Shoot From The Hip," "Widowmaker," "Sex Drive" and "Sleeping (In the Fire) [acoustic]
@@howardbeale661 The record company wussed out yet again. One of hardest singles to find is Live...Animal. This song was recorded at Long Beach Arena but left off the album. What a crime.
I had bought Last Command in 1986 when I was 14 and I've loved W.A.S.P. since then. When I got Inside the Electric Circus the next year, I was completely blown away by Chris Holmes' guitar riff in the intro to the title track! I still rank that as one of the nastiest guitar riffs ever. Inside the Electric Circus is #1 for me. I love that album start to finish. Some rank it pretty low because they think some of the lyrical content is juvenile (95 Nasty, and Shoot From the Hip for example), but I just see it as good fun. By the way, LOVE that you have King Diamond's Abigail album on your wall! Amazing album! One of the tightest bands ever assembled!
Check out KFD for yourself than, because you may just fall in love with it. The live album, Double Live Assassins is up there with Live After Death for me. The Crimson Idol is phenomenal as well.
@@bschuler6216 I love KFD. I bought that when it came out and a friend we went camping with had an amazing Bose stereo. Kill Your Pretty Face would send chills down your spine when he cranked it up.
The debut by far is my favorite. Saw them on that tour open for Krokus. Saw them again on the Last Command tour open for Kiss. What killed WASP’s growth in popularity was the consistent line- up changes. After Headless Children, Blackie should have just went with his name. I know it shouldn’t matter, but people tend to see a “band” name and hate to see members come and go.
I just recently got into WASP. I currently have their debut and Babylon. I need to start getting more of their albums to add to my collection. I totally agree, Blackie Lawless is a killer vocalist and I think super underrated.
Great video. I am a big fan of the first 4 W.A.S.P studio albums plus the live album and the Animal EP. No big fan of the later stuff. My #1 will always be the Headless Children album, I saw them on the Headless tour in Europe they played in a small circus tent on a real tiny stage, it was just awesome.
Good video. I could never rank WASP's albums...I absolutely love all their stuff. I can't wait to see them on their tour! I've been waiting a long time to see WASP live!
Hey Bryce, I've only just seen your channel but I'm loving your knowledge. W. A. S. P. Are the first band I ever saw way back when I was 16 and I've been loving them ever since. I didn't like KFD when it came out because I was a massive fan of the earlier albums. I played it last night and absolutely loved it. My favourite will always be Live In The Raw - possibly my favourite ever album (dare I say even over Reign In Blood by Slayer)... Studio albums wise Inside The Electric Circus is played more than any other, Restless Gypsy can just stay on repeat for me. Take care dude, I look forward to seeing more from you.
Interesting how many people love W.A.S.P. 's later albums and songs but you nailed this one on the number one for sure. You obviously know great W.A.S.P. when you hear it. I love the band but kind of lost track of them over the years and am not terrible sad I did as their debut is tough to top (still have my original vinyl of it which I bought when I was 18....MANY W.A.S.P. albums ago. MANY! LOL!) Otherwise, I begged my mom for moccasin boots for Christmas when I was 17. You can imagine why. To my astonishment, she bought them for me. Blackie is unparalled and I did appreciate your list. Awesome!
Nice video! Great ranking, I don't full agree with the top few albums because I tend to prefer Last Command, Crimson Idol and Headless Children as my top 3, but I also love Electric Circus, WASP and Still Not Black enough so I get that they're your top albums. Amazing band, and especially their first 6 albums are killers. I also have a soft spot for Babylon, really underrated album.
I forgot to put a comment with my list. I was introduced to the band in January 1985 when I took a chance on the debut. As soon as Tony starts off I Wanna Be Somebody, I was hooked. 36 years later, they are still my go to band even though I had taken a break from them after KFD until Babylon came out. I haven’t spent the kind of time with the 2000’s albums as much as the rest but those are great albums.
Great video , you did a great job. I have all their albums up to KFD , but I bought that cd and it really disappointed me, since that album i bought DOUBLE LIVE ASSASSINS their live album it ROCKS but haven't got any more since.
I absolutely love Double Live Assassins too. You definitely already own the best of WASP. The only other album I think is kinda essential is Dying For The World.
I started listening to W.A.S.P. with the release of Inside the Electric Circus, and have purchased everything they've released. I love K.F.D., and am shocked it's so far down the list. When it came out, I looked at it as Blackie's way of showing all those like Marilyn Manson that they could do what they do every bit as good. The scream in Kill Your Pretty Face is haunting. I'm a fan of yours Bryce, but I think you missed the mark on KFD.
This would be my list: 1 W.A.S.P. 2 Inside the Electric Circus 3 The Headless Children 4 K.F.D. 4.1 Live In The Raw (had a couple of new songs) 5 Still Not Black Enough 6 The Crimson Idol 7 The Last Command 8 Unholy Terror (how did you not mention Charisma) 9 Dying for the World 10 Helldorado 11 Dominator 12 Babylon 13 The Neon God: Part 2 - The Demise 14 The Neon God: Part 1 - The Rise 15 Golgotha 16 ReIdolized
I enjoy seeing what other people's rankings are. Very interesting there, thanks for sharing! Headless>Crimson>Neon 1>Dying>Dominator>Unholy>Helldorado>Command>Golgotha>Babylon>WASP>Circus>Neon 2>Still Not>KFD
Cool list. The first two albums are still the best two for me. I’d actually put The Last Command at one. It should have been the album to break them really big but it never quite happened for some reason. I always thought ITEC was good but inferior to the first two. Id probably agree with K.F.D last but I probably have Golgotha slightly higher. Just for “The Last Runaway” alone. Which you didn’t mention.
1. The Headless Children 2- The Crimson Idol 3. The Last Command 4. W.A.S.P. 5. Still Not Black Enough 6. Unholy Terror 7. Dominator 8. The Neon God I 9. Inside The Electric Circus 10. Golgatha 11. The Neon God II 12. Babylon 13. Dying For The World 14. Helldorado 15. K.F.D.
You nailed this list. I have to agree with you about the Still Not Black Enough album. The only major change for me would be Dominator over Unholy Terror. Great list!
Well, some of us have been around since the beginning and I give you some credit for your choices, but all WASP albums are so good, that I have never had a definite order that I liked. They all Rock.
Hey Bryce, hope all is well. I know you mentioned a while back you'd be doing this and I tried to hone up on their discography. RL, as it often does, got in the way and I cannot bring myself to give you a list. However, I became mesmerized again with The Crimson Idol especially when you add 'The Story of Jonathan 1992' to the mix. I'm biased towards the concept/darker stuff Blackie wrote and the combination of both puts it over the top for me. At least at this time. I can't argue with your list, it's nearly impossible to rank W.A.S.P. releases. Saw them back in '07 I think, after his 'transformation'. Didn't get to see them before which is a life's regret. Still, one of the more underrated musicians, dude is a genius. In the coming weeks/months/years I'll do my best to give you my ranking, but it's just not possible atm. Keep fucking killing it, my man. Always brings a smile to my face to see you've got new content when I can make it here.
15. Still Not Black Enough 14. Helldorado 13. The Neon God: part 2--The Demise 12. Unholy Terror 11. The Neon God: part1--The Rise 10. Dominator 9. Golgotha 8. Babylon 7. The Last Command 6. Inside The Electric Circus 5. Dying For The World 4. The Headless Children 3. WASP (the self-titled debut) 2. K.F. D./Double Live Assassins 1. The Crimson Idol I'm kinda guessing here as I've never owned Dominator or Neon God part 1. I only love love my top 5. Last Command & Electric Circus have some amazing songs, but also some real duds. I was super let down by Still Not Black Enough when it came out. It just sounded like watered down, recycled Crimson Idol riffs. I had a very similar feeling with the Tool albums that followed Aenima. I remember buying the cassettes of Helldorado & Unholy Terror right when they came out & being extremely disappointed after KFD. Luckily I stick with them for Dying For The World, imo their last essential record. I got fooled again by the Neon Gods, thinking I was gonna get another Crimson Idol. Wow was I disappointed & wrong. The self-titled debut could easily be number 1 as it is pretty flawless, but it also kinda resembles Twisted Sister's Stay Hungry which i believe came out the same year.
Even though this in an old vid it randomly came across my feed. I'm a fan of WASP but had criminally underappreciated Electric Circus; Restless Gypsy is incredible.
Agreed on Still not black enough and Helldorado. Good list! Mine is pretty much similar to yours but I love much more The Neon God and the pair Unholy Terror and Dying for the world are superb.
1. The Last Command 2. WASP 3. Inside the Electric Circus 4. The Crimson Idol 5. Still Not Black Enough 6. The Headless Children 7. Babylon 8. The Neon God: Part 2 - The Demise 9. Unholy Terror 10. The Neon God: Part 1 - The Rise 11. Dying for the World 12. Dominator 13. Helldorado 14. Golgotha 15. KFD
Inside the Electric Circus is a masterpiece. Also; my first concert was WASP, Armored Saint and Metallica during the RTL era. I don't think I could come up with a better first concert experience \m/
Love W.A.S.P. - they've been my favorite band ever, since I heard them in 1990. I was seven years old. They were my gateway band to all things metal 1. W.A.S.P. 2. The Headless Children 3. The Crimson Idol 4. The Last Command 5. Inside The Electric Circus 6. Still Not Black Enough 7. K.F.D. 8. Unholy Terror 9. Dying For The World 10. Dominator 11. Babylon 12. Golgotha 13. Helldorado 14/15. The Neon God: Part 1 - The Rise / The Neon God: Part 2 - The Demise
Wasp is absolutely a great band for sure. Blackie is one of the best Frontmen of all time. 15 Still Not Black Enough 14 KFD 13 Golgotha 12 Dominator 11 Helldorado 10 Neon God part 1 9 Babylon 8 Neon God Part 2 7 Unholy Terror 6 Dying for the World 5 WASP 4 Inside the Electric Circus 3 Headless Children 2 The Last Command 1 Crimson Idol
W.a.s.p. is basically the judas priest of shock rock. Sabbath made it heavy, but priest made it metal, and Alice Cooper made creepy, but W.A.S.P. made it scary.
Agree with you! Their first album is a masterpiece! Second, third and forth are amazing too. Then it just feels like they are trying to recreate their first album, but fail. Still, love WASP, thanks to “I wanna be somebody” I started listening heavy metal)
Good video Bryce. I watched the WASP VHS 'Live At The Lyceum' over n over when I was Younger. Even though the audio was fiddled with, it set the bar very high for my expectations of a live Heavy Metal band. Amazing songs. Blackie Lawless's shock Rock still resonates heavily too, especially in the more extreme bands. Flames, skulls, eating worms, pentagrams, setting himself on fire, shooting fire from his crotch, throwing raw meat, impaling fetuses, molesting nuns, covering himself in blood etc. All the good things ha! But they had the songs and a vocalist that was so much better than a lot of the sleaze Metal that crawled out of the L.A scene with 'em. To be honest the repetition got a bit too much for me and I lost interest. The last record I bought was Dominator but still they're one of the greats!
Little late to this party... but as a younger guy back in the 80's I avoided theses guys especially because of that first album cover...I was a bit scared to try em out. Then I saw the album single for Fuck Like a Beast with that rip saw cod piece picture and thought okay, gonna check this shit out. The vinyl was (can't remember) either a red or clear vinyl and then I played the song. I WAS HOOKED... this was a new sound for me so I got their debut album and OMFG was blown away by L.O.V.E Machine. Been a fan ever since and yes, two of the BEST at their craft: Blackie and THE Metal God himself... Rob Halford.
Headless, crimson, and black enough are easily my favorites. SNBE was a real go to for me during some harder times in life. Of the later albums, Dominator
1.The last command. 2. Inside the electric circus 3. WASP 4. Headless children 5. The Idol Then Everything went down hill from there with few decent tracks far and between. That's my take on WASP fricken love'm 😎
Evermore is one of my favorite W.A.S.P. song's ever. I've seen them 3 times in concert. Great live band with a lot of energy. I love the album Unholy Terror.
Nice to see a metal head and not a poser who thinks he knows metal my fav band still love to this day like the cd they are Christian band know i like all tere stuff inside the electric circus is my fav one?#1 for me
after all these years and after having listened to all of the band's albums many times, The Headless Children still remains my favorite album, and it also was the first album I heard from them...I also liked very much Dying For The World, Unholy Terror(you could also mention Evermore from that album, a great ballad) and The Crimson Idol...I didn't like KFD, Helldorado and Still Not Black Enough...I liked the other albums of the band that I didn't mention, but not as much as I liked the ones I mentioned...
