Since I got Kazakh intro somehow, I decided to make
multilanguage video with all versions which was avaible on internet. I'm still not sure about Korean..but who knows? Maybe we will find it one day? Anyway enjoy the video and tell me which version is ur favourite!

what I love about opening WITCH so much is because it doesn't sound like a fun children's song, it's dark, which really suits the series

I agre it doesn't sound like "fun children's song"... but how is it dark? I mean ok, the graphic style give a bit of more dark vibe, but graphic doesn't sound. The song itself points towards more serious and epic vibe but dark? I really can't hear it at all.

@@llucaas.111 As who is Bulgarian this is not surprising that both seasons were a voice-over. The opening was undubbed in S.1 but voiced-over in S.2. And the worst is they kept re-dubbing it for almost every episode, while 2x01 is the worst one. I kinda like the 2x02 and after that because they don't sound tired like the 2x01 one. I mean Kazakh is also a voice-over but at least they dubbed the opening unlike us.

Fun fact: russian translation of title "Чародейки"(Charodeiki) means sorceresses, while english Witch translates as "Ведьма"(Viedma) and in russian cultural lense main heroines did not seem as witches at all. You see, main witch character in russian culture - Baba Yaga, in her classic appearance is old and scary hag, so instead of literal translation heroines were called as something close to their visual visage - sorceresses.

No, "Charodeiki" and "sorceresses" have differet menings. Sorceresses are on the light side (Faires), charodeiki - on the dark side (Witches).

It’s just that if you write the names of girls in Russian, then the word Witch doesn’t work, so they simply changed it to something more or less suitable for the word witch

Polish S2 also mentions "Charodeiki" at the end (at least I can hear it like this - not sure, as I don't know Polish at all). I wonder if they took the idea from Russian dub. Btw, Russian translation of comics originally used to translate title as "Ведьма", but as was mentioned already - without renaming the girls this tittle just doesn't work. Only after release of the series they came up with idea adapt title as "Чародейки".

@@user-qz9qx8xb9q Wrong. "Charodeiki" (singular form would be "charodeika") is neutral term and has nothing to do with witches (neither "sorceresses" related to "faires"). "Koldun'i" (plural for "koldun'ya") would fit the idea of "dark mage" more, as it has same meaning with "warlock", but not "charodeiki".

I grew up with the Dutch opening and to this day it's still the best to me. I wish it got a season 2 because the addition of the electric guitar to the song is so satisfying. Season 2 UK version is my 2nd fav.

NEVER knew it was dubbed in so many languages! Amazing. My native language is Russian, Im ukrainian. I just love the UK style intro! So good. Ofcourse I grew up with russian version. Now watching it in English. HILARIOUS! Bulgarian is text to speech xD

Unfortunately we had only voice-over for this show. The opening was undubbed but in S.2 it was voiced-over. And in fact it was re-recorded for every episode. If you see the opening from 2x01 you'll see how bad it is. At least from 2x02 is better because they don't sound tired. And the weirdest part Kazakh is a voice-over but dubbed the opening from S.2 unlike we. Ah, the early 2000s when the songs weren't dubbed but voiced-over liked that they just fire the lyrics and leave some parts in English.

If you translate the lyrics of the intro of the Russian version into English, you get something like this (not in rhyme of course): We can control the flames, the earth, the air and the waves a dashing surf It's never too late to discover our talents We're ready to fight! You don't have to be afraid; run away villain - we're a te-am. We're strong, we're friendly, our hand will not waver We'll keep the world safe from evil, from harm, The Veil is impervious; we're sure to strike. We, we, we, we, we're not to be led astray, Our chance, our hour to save the earth. Overall I like the mention of the Veil in the song (they are Guardians of it after all), and the message that as long as they're on duty, no one can get through it, and also that it's never too late to discover unexpected talents in yourself, which is something you don't find in other versions. Also the cool over-the-top vocals.

Как же я дико кайфую с американского оп Чародеек, этот оп не такой как на всех остальных языковых версиях, но при этом он очень круто звучит, кайф просто. Также мне нравится французская версия, тоже очень круто звучит. И, на удивлении мне словацкая версия песни также прям зашла, и я дико кайфанул с исполнения. Ну, и естественно в самом сердечке у меня русская версия, и лично для меня явные топ-2: американская и русская

Jana Mařasová voiced both W.I.T.C.H and Winx opening songs in Czech, but Winx only in Prima version of season 1. She was the voice of Stella in this version. She returned in Nick as the singer for Harmonix, Bloomix and Mythix, curiously not singing Sirenix. She is quite a well-known voice actress. Her roles include Disney princesses Ariel, Belle, Mulan, Nala (only singing) and possibly Jasmine, also voice of Miriam, Odette or Daphne in most versions of Schooby Doo. Good catch.

I speak romanian and I never liked the romanian dubbing and the opening simply doesn't sound right, it's like the singers barely had any voices at all, sounds false, they didn't put any effort and passion in the song. Instead I like the original version in english plus the Italian and the Korean versions, so lively and a bit different.

Well, at least the Romanian version is way better than the Bulgarian. We never had a dub of this just voice-over and in fact only in S.2 it was voiced-over, in S.1 they didn't.
