I did it in a short chain. If the top 68 isn't an 8, then it's a 6. Not-6 in R2C9, 6 in R8C9, 8 in the bottom 68 cell. Therefore, the highlighted cell can't be 8. It's 9. (Sorry if I'm spoiling it for other viewers. But at least they have to click on the comment button.)
i am just recently picking up sudoku, is the bifurcation technique just 'chaining' as you call it here? as in see if either choice picks up an elimination. or is bifurcation different in that it might also use medium-long ranged chains also? I guess it depends on how involved the bifurcation is, huh. bc bifurcation obviously works better when either way, it'll just deconstruct the entire rest of the puzzle. if you're still stuck after bifurcation, then it was prob a mistake. but the shorter the chain youre trying, the less hefty the price youd be paying
