w123 w116 aux fan, can we save it? 

That's the joy of working on these cars. If something isn't working properly, chances are it is serviceable.

I have a number of these from W116's and years ago mounted one as an extraction fan (Horizontally) in a mates camper roof vent :-) Apart from being noisy as a fan is works brilliantly still today.

A very useful and informational video about a part that otherwise would be thrown in the trash by people that don't know how to open and "service" them. Thanks!

The sad part is I bet even the replacement MB part for this, is not made as well as this original part

one of the fans of my 260E stoped working due to dust and leaves under the brushes! just clean and back to work!

When I was working on the AC on my late W126 a rag got sucked into one of the dual fans, and broke a blade off. Quite annoying.

the same kind of fan can be found on also on some a/c systems on 190Es.

On my w163 2002 ml the radiator light popped up on the dashboard. I automatically presumed it was low on coolant. Turned out to be the fan not slow spinning due to the resistor pack located on the side of the fan shroud. New fan assembly £400 as the module is not sold separately. I am going to crack it open and change the blown capacitor myself.

What grease are referring to? I have been using MB-branded wheel bearing, it is of toxic green color and I think it is pretty high quality.

The irregular fan blade spacing is interesting: anyone care to speculate?
