2012 C300, applies to all 08-14 W204 C- Class Mercedes... Issue is the when it rains the rear driver floor fills with water and the rugs become soaking wet.
The fix is to remove the sunroof drain reducer at the end of the drain that is behind the driver fender. You will need to remove the front wheel, the rear half of the fender liner, and then remove the end of the sunroof drain reducer. From there pour water down it to confirm your issue has been resolved.
17mm socket to remove wheel, 10mm socket to remove wheel liner, also need a clip removal tool or a flat head to remove 2 push pin clips.
Dealer quoted $2500 + additional findings and labor to fix this!!!

Great video! My son's 2009 W204 has been getting water in the driver side front and rear footwells and he could never find the source of the water. I think you may have cracked the code and I have sent him the link to your video...thank you!

@michellopes9750 hi yes just by pulling the front drain out just like in my video it solved all issues. It was so clogged that the water would fill up the front and rear. I did not have to do anything extra besides what I did in the video

I ended up opening the door, pulling down on the black cover that is between the front door hinge and front fender area, and managed to get my hand behind the fender and pull the pipe ends off, cut them to make them more open and reattached them. Drained water into the sunroof and it runs through freely now. Hopefully this solves the rear carpet wet issue after the next rain fall.

Nice work. That's a good idea. I went this route with the fender liner as I had to do abs wheel speed sensors anyways on it.

Hi, the front drain solved the issue. Have had the car detailed and it sits outside and has rained every day just about and have 0 signs of water. I know online some need to do the rear as well but in my instance it was front only. It was taking on alot of water so was surprised only the front fixed it.

The front mat of our 2009 C300 doesn't get wet, but the rear floor passenger side does. Would cleaning this front drain still help a rear carpet problem? Or is there another drain that goes to the rear of the car from the sunroof?

Yes it would. I would start here first. There is a rear one but much more complex to get to and honestly most of the issue comes from this front drain. So start here and see how it goes.

On the passenger front side you can reach between the door and fender take the restriction tube thing off. With out taking the wheel or fender liner off. I just did it on my c300

Thanks a lot, man, this was very useful. However, the floor behind the driver’s seat in my car is completely soaked. I’ve taken out the tube like you did in the video, but water is still getting clogged back there, any ideas what I should do to help with the back?

sorry i am not much help i would do some googling and see if there is a how to on doing the rear drains.. thankfully i havent had to do that yet on the 3 c Class i have removed this tube on

I am having this problem too and so does my dad. same car and model. 2012 and 2013. The water is draining from the driver side front door and mainly from the ceiling in the center of the car through the ceiling light controls. My dads car fills so much when we drive after the rain we can hear the water moving when he brakes and goes forward. Is it the same process to remove the passenger front plug too? How hard is it to clear the rear drains?

thankfully just clearing the front drains usually takes car of the issues, yes same procedure for the other side.. But if you have sunroof drain clogs then that could be another animal. I know you would need to pen the sunroof and then with something thin but firm but not sharp feed the tool thru the drains to clean them out and pour water down the drain holes to help clear debris. The problem is the debris turns to muck and makes it hard to remove or clear up. Clear the front drains first and go from there.

@@JimyOfficial yes. Have to open the sunroof so the front is popped up. And there is a drain tube on each side front corner

I had a whole puddle of water on the passenger side. A little bit on the driver side. Will this fix both sides ? Or are there any more drains to clean up or open up

Yes will fix both sides. Passenger side is less common it's usually just the driveside leaking over to god knows where. But start with driver side.

@@cpstang24 I just cut the rubber grommets on both ends. Had to replace all the CAN bus distributor boards because it got filled with water causing the car not to work at all
