Hello friends. Decided to install BC Racing coilovers in my 06 E55 AMG, figured I would take some videos to help you guys with the Install. If was helpfull please leave a thumbs up and subscribe! Thank you!
I watched this whole video again. I noticed some folks on YT removed suspension parts differntly i.e. they removed rear bags and shocks first and then removed the rear lower control arm. Same with front where some folks never touched the upper control arms. Now after watching this video again I have more questions: I wonder how to release the pressure from the airmatic bags using Star? I see people do this using external battery, and I read it can be done by depressurizing the system, but idk how. And on the video it looked like the rear wheels were lower than stock. I'm not sure but maybe it's because by default the rear adjustable shocks are shorter than the stock ones. Idk, maybe it needs to settle first. Also I'd like to know the torque specs. I wish someone could write the torque specs that you need to apply when tightening the suspension bolts.
Thank you guys! I'll need to install the coilovers on my Benz soon. I wonder if you got your BC coilovers with default spring rates? I see BC offers custom spring rates AND they also offer Swift springs too. PS: please tell if the rear lower control arm from 350 model needs extra bolts or is it using the same bolts you removed from E55 rear lower control arm? Thank you.
Hey. Awesome walk through. Just gearing to do mine on my 04 e55. The previous owner did a spring conversion but instead of BC racing coilovers I understand he took the suspension of an e350/500. Silly question but would this mean that the lower control arms would have already been changed?
I was wondering if the stock e350 suspension works on an airmatic w211 e500... I assume if it works for the 55 it would work fine on the 500...how is the ride with the original coils?
You commented this 3 times over the last 3 years😂 get over yourself. Not everybody wants their E class to handle like a shite boat. Coils > stock airmatic, any day of the week that ends with Y.
I did this on my E63! Just got the Airmatic turned off but still get the malfunction code and the ‘’Stop car is too low’’ code. Any idea on how to solve ?
Hi. Nice work, I want to go with this kit on my e500 but the adjusting thing will be confusing on the rear between the struts and the springs, because how to tell if you whether or not putting more stress on either of, i hope you have clarification on this point before I make decision and go with struts master
That suspension is siMilar to the cls I was told that coilover kit doesn’t fit the 2007 cls 550 maybe the coils are different but all else looks the same
I was told the same I ordered a kit for my 07 cls63 from ksport (they will tell you the kit doesn't fit airmatic cars if you ask them) and ordering arms from fcp. Fronts have been on for a week rear is going on this weekend
@@EUROWORKS I kind of figured that just need lower control arms rear Thts all but if I mix n match it will work just the coilover kit no springs n get the springs from other company n no need for rear lower arms
In my opinion BC coil overs are not the right type of suspension for this car. If you can’t afford to fix air suspension you should not buy an E55 … the idea is a comfortable light nigh fast car not a track car.
I wish not to insult you but you don't know what you are talking about. This job was comissioned by the new owner which owns porsches, M cars and even a Ferrari. If you drove any of those cars and go into an air suspension w211 there will be lots of disappointment in handling during spirited driving. This has nothing to do with not being able to afford air suspension repairs and everything to do with handling. Not everyone wants a car that feels great under acceleration in a straight line.
@@EUROWORKS seriously, these are cheap Chinese coil overs fitted as replace not of AMG air suspension in a luxury car 😂😂😂😂 not everybody knows what they are talking about!
