W6RAG's ubitx 4 - Some simple mods that improve the radio. A speaker driver, a fan, and a transmit/receive switch were added for quiet clean cw operation. Also a lesson learned about the danger of having another transmitter close to the ubitx. Q90 was destroyed when 60 watts was loaded onto an antenna a few feet away from the ubitx antenna

Thanks for the tips, i also operate cw qrp so will do some investigations to see if V6 has the same issues. Best 73's from Bristol uk de M0hfh (John)

there is a fix for this in the hamskey code. that allows more buttons and also add nextion screen

The ubitx is a lot of fun and works really well I make a lot of contacts using FT8 I think you will receive the ver 5 ubitx which has improvements and especially you won't need to add and audio amp

@@baler61 Hi again. Ver 6 was released just before Christmas and they ran out of boards. But boards should have arrived by now. Ver 6 is more or less the same as ver 5 but no soldering required it's all plugs. Now to make a multiband antenna up as high as I can get it. I have plenty of room and some extremely high trees.

Hi, i have some troubles geting my UBITX on the air and searching for a solution for my issues. Perhaps i have done the same thing operating a powerful TRX in the surrounding of my UBITX. The question is: what happens if the Q90 burns out? What effects does this have for the TRX in detail? Thanks in advance and vy 73s from Germany, from Martin DK9CA
