My uncle was a trucker after he got out of the marines and he drove a day cab for Nabisco running tandem trailers. He loved it. Wish he could be here toseeme perfume the same dream. Cancer ultimately took him before he even reached 40. He's the reason I wish to go into trucking and as of May ill be rolling
Kw has had that sleeper layout for a while. Company I worked for had a t800 with that sleeper. Had a lot of room, and the sunken floor in the sleeper made it feel like a big condo when it's a midroof sleeper.
@@chainmailunderwear they don’t share a bunk? It’s not like there’s two guys living in a sleeper is it? I just figure the bunk has a couple hours to air out before they switch, then just eat a sandwich and go to bed
My grandpa drove truck for a long time. Owned a day cab cause that’s all he could afford was a Frankenstein’s truck made of all used parts. When he would sleep in the truck he grabbed his wood plank and lay it flat across the two seats. Lol hard times 😂
My dad has one these back in the day and my brother and I would go on the road w him for like 2weeks at a time during a school break. Best memories as a kid, had a ps2 in the back w nfsu2 and MC3 🔥
If you’re going haul grain in a tandem trailer and you want to haul 50,000 pounds consistently you need to have truck and trailer under 30,000 pounds and you might have to sacrifice sleeper space to do that. I did it with a truck that had a 62 inch sleeper cross country and I loved it.
If the state always it. Most states don't allow anything over 80,000 pounds. I have a freightliner Cascadia. Love the truck but my max weight that I can haul into the southern states is 48,800 tops.
We had a kenworth box truck rented and i hated that thing. But i guess it was just a base model. The six speed and engine were terribly slow, barely made 50 up any grade loaded or not. it was super loud but the suspension was decent although no air bags made it painfully rough and the cabin was short and forced you into a very upright position. took me a week to recover from our monthly 2 day routes
Finally they put a couch in!!! This just seems like a natural fit😊 Put in a couple of lagun Mounting points so you can have some tables that swing around in front of the couch. Volvo take a lesson from Paccar, Wile a dinette was Is a good thing I threw a mattress over that. Do I even wanna know what this truck looks like on the outside? I prefer the body lines of other truck they make: Peterbuilt.
@@troywilliams8659 you obviously know nothing about transmissions. Don't feel bad, when I tow you guys, I don't even get surprised at your bewilderment. There are 18 gears, but you only run through about 10 in normal use
That's something kenworth has been doing since I was a kid. I remember riding in one of my uncles w900 and the bottom bed was folded up into a couch. Not anything new or special
After spending a good bit of time in that sleeper I was amazed at how much wasted space there was in it. Probably the worst designed sleeper I ever slept in.
He didn’t know how to lower the upper bunk…. And he call himself a Professional Truck Driver, looks to me like he never drove a Kenworth truck before 😂😂LOL
