Great video and a big help. I have a laptop with two external monitors and when I first plugged my Wacom tablet in, the monitors and laptop screen kept switching off and on until the laptop crashed and rebooted. I disconnected the external monitors and started the laptop with the tablet connected. In Wacom Tablet Properties, in the Mapping tab, I set the screen area to a portion if Monitor 1 (the laptop screen). I was then able to use the external monitors without any problems. I found I can set the screen area to all of Monitor 1 without any scaling errors. Everyone's system is different but this worked for me.
Thank you VERY much! I got a Wacom tablet to use for distance tutoring, so am doing the same type of things you do in your teaching. (All the other tutorials are for artists and photoshop users.) I'll disable the unnecessary buttons and add calculator to my shortcut buttons. Now I can actually start using this!
clearly explained in very very nice. Thank you . I have a XP-Pen Star G640 Graphics Tablet that works good with OpenBoard whiteboard app . I use it for teaching and conferences primarily and for annotating histopathology slides. OpenBoard can open most graphics files whole directories at a time which is great for me. It also can save your pages in .pdf form which is great for meetings.
Hi! Thanks for creating a helpful video. However, I would like to comment on a couple of things. 1) I use dual-monitor. You can use "Wacom Tablet Properties" > "Mapping" option to map the monitor area with the tablet. 2) I respect your experience of 10 years but the technology has evolved and if there are buttons on the pen, then it must have been put after a lot of research. So IMO, I would rather encourage viewers to go and learn how to best use the buttons without them being a hurdle. This improves productivity.
I have colleagues that use dual monitors with great success. I was just trying to get folks up and running quickly without too much set up. Early success
I'm thinking about buying this tablet for use in OneNote for my Math courses, seems like a good investment now with College classes being online now until further notice.
I bought the wacom intuos in June. Intended to use it for web conferencing presentation or for teaching just like you. My intention was it will work directly after its software has been installed without the need for a third-party app/software. I could not use this device to annotate in MS Word, PDF file or in a presentation. Could you please tell me what software i would need to install in order to achieve result as you in this video? what are the supporting software needed to annotate in conference presentation and to annotate in PDF or word documents or power point slide like you demonstrated here..
Powerpoint you can edit multiple slides without having to clear the slide in order to move onto the next. So Powerpoint slides is much better for that case. If you only need 1 slide then you dont need Powerpoint.
I am sold on this. I did this years ago on a convertible tablet PC and learned to enjoy the flexibility. But it wasn't mine. Maybe I need to buy a tablet of some kind.
Great video! very instructive and useful for beginners. I was wondering, what would you recommend to teachers of older age who want to start using the WACOM, but are not used to digital teaching?
What surface are you drawing on, on the screen? If I use a whiteboard app, I can write on that using the Wacom or I can use the pen keyboard but I can't just write on the screen. I was wondering if it took some transparent fullscreen app so the underlying desktop or apps would be visible but I could write on the transparent app, giving the appearance of writing on the desktop or other app. I can't find anything to do that so I'm able to write overlaying the desktop or other apps on the screen. Any tips or ideas? Wacom is zero help; I can't figure out how they stay in business, selling a capable hardware product but offering no usable software with it.
Sir thank thank u so much it's really very helpful to me I was searching right video demo , finally ur video was helpful. Just tell me how did u get that circuit into the slide pls help me with that , actually iam searching for that part only how to include circuit
Thank you so much for sharing this. I would like to purchase a tablet like this for my parents who are both teachers, but they need a tablet where they can see what they are writing, they won't use this one because it's difficult to write as you can only see what you are writting when you look at the computer screen. Do you have any recommendations?
I have a wacom right now and it's just not working. Hasn't ever worked properly so I didn't plan on getting one again . Hopefully I can find a XP-PEN Deco 03 wireless tablet. I've heard good things about them.
3:01 completely wrong. I am using dual monitors and the solution is to simply go to the settings. And the fun thing is you can actually choose on which screen you would like to draw with your tablet and also regulate the drawing area - half a screen for example. Find this under "Mapping" when you open your 'wacom tablet properties'. Not only that you can adjust settings for different apps. Well at least comes with the newer tablet 2020.
I have a question🤔, but firstly.. deep thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience about this type of devices. I wonder how are the numbers of needed storage on my computer would look like if i used that to cmpletely hand write a book of let's say 100 pages.. how much mega/gigabytes would i need to save the output of 100 pages written with wacom ??
Great. As a novice, can you tell me if i can type something on Word and use the drawing pad simultaneously to teach live both in a live lesson, say on Zoom or Skype?
would love your help! I am a professor of nursing and have this tablet (the newer one) and Im trying to make it work in word and my PPT presentations but I cannot figure out how to use this with my Mac. I can't find the windows ink workspace like you have. Any help would be helpful
Hi Catherine, I'm not familiar with the MAC as I'm a PC guy. That being said I primarily use Powerpoint in presentation mode and don't even need Windows ink space as the tablet acts like a mouse. I can sketch on the top of slides in presentation mode.
Did you find out the solution for your problem?? I am looking for the same thing for Mac. Plus, I need to be able to annotate on PDF files while recording my annotations as well as my voice as I am teaching. Any advise or recommendation is appreciated.
WHat's the software u are using to write? I have a intuos and ive been searching all over their website for a software like that but no luck. I'm using a iOS
thank you, teacher, I have a Wacom Intuos small, but I don't know How to write over the superficial of the Wacom and pen change the color. Please I need to learn. Congratulations.
Is wacom will help me in teaching online easyer than using apen writing on a tablet like samsung note which is more better for me in teaching online wacom or samsung note tablet??
The Rule for no dual monitors isn't really making much sense. You downlaod the drivers for the tablet you have and choose which monitor you want to target and that's it
In the minute 2:35, you write over the tablet and change color. Use a program special or the Wacom not need programs. Please I need to Know. thank you.
I'm using a free version of Flashback 5 to record the screen for video lessons. It's really useful to have all things running - webcam (my students like to see a face), flashback which allows you to demonstrate software really well, and will now add the wacom for annotations. By the way I use Olive which is a GREAT free video editor to put the lot together. Only bind is that I'm having to use my home desktop as my school laptop is way too slow.
Thank you for the video! I have a question: while it is switched on, can I still use the mouse? Or once I am using it the mouse connected to the laptop becomes inactive?
I really need help, Im a new wacom user but when I was setting up the software, it said the version was 10.11 - 10.13 (I own a 10.11 mac) so I picked that option but once I had installed it, it said the the version was 10.13 and up so after panicking for 15 minutes, I contacted wacom online but Im a new wacom user so I don't know what wacom meant by 'you have a case # blah blah blah blah' so now Im just stuck with a software to advanced for my computer *please help me*
Try downloading a older Wacom driver from here to see if this works for you. It will show the products it supports. www.wacom.com/en-gb/support/product-support/drivers
Let me introduce you to an even better built-in Windows app. Type "Microsoft Whiteboard" and you get a clean canvas to work with. You can even change the background colors or into a grid/graph background.😄
hi. thanks for your sharing video. very useful. can you tell me how to add a calculator apps shortcut to our wacom like your video at 9:25. thanks again
Wacom has specific product models for teaching(Online/offline).These models have display on the device for better hand-eye coordination.. These are available from 10" to 24" screen size- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c5te3JFzNhc.html
