Wade in the Water 

I was listening to the film soundtrack for the movie Priscilla (really great movie by the way, totally recommend!) and one of the songs was "Wade in the Water" by The Soul Stirrers. I couldn't stop listening to it because it's such a soulful song, and then I remember several years ago watching a clip of Alvin Ailey performers dancing to a spiritual called "Wade in the Water". I thought of Independence Day and then Juneteenth, which was last month. i didn't do much to observe Juneteenth, but reflecting on it more, I am understanding that it is an important day and that every day is a chance for me celebrate my Blackness and the contributions of so many Black artists. so I decided to play "Wade in the Water".
