I was at the Royal Opera House on December 21st 2007 for the late Bernard Haitink conducting Parsifal and Chris Ventris was Parsifal in that exact performance. What a voice!! I'll never forget it. By the end of the Opera, I was crying like a baby

The desire to conduct Wagner was central to Haitink's decision to Accept the post of MD at Covent Garden. He had discussions with Wolfgang Wagner but had no enthusiasm to appear at Bayreuth. Their loss was our gain.

D'accord avec vs à 100%. Ai juste eu la chance d'écouter l'opéra au complet,sur ma chaîne Classica (chaîne musicale payante). Tt simplement superbe. Et Kent Nagano était notre chef d'orch pour bien des années, il a pris sa retraite de chez ns,à mon grand regret, il était chef de l'orchestre symphonique de Montréal. Joyeuses fêtes et bonne et heureuse 2021(espérons mieux que 2020) Salutations de Montréal, Qc, Canada

A mio avviso forse quel che ho visto è altro rispetto al Parsifal, persino la musica e le parole perdono senso rispetto a ciò che si vede e si percepisce dalla scena... Alla fine è sempre il medesimo problema: è il Parsifal (o qualsiasi altro capolavoro di Wagner), o è solo un pretesto per mettere in atto qualcosa di diverso? Che il regista allora si scrivesse testo, musica e decidesse in modo autonomo e, allora sì, libero quel che lui ha in testa. Altrimenti...
