Charlie Ruggles had always been one of my favorite actors (character or otherwise); he was full of heart and kind in every way, just as he was onscreen. This episode's also my most favorite of all Wagon Train episodes (I'm a huge animal lover, especially of dogs and horses).
Thank you for all the words to that song 🎶. I could only remember the first part of the song 🎶 but when I heard the rest of it, it all came back to me. And I love 💕 the care the young couple had for the old man and Herman and I love 💕 happy 😊 endings. 💕💕💕🥰🥰🥰💝💞💘💕💖💗
Correction does crazy phone is not dictating properly. What a pleasure to see Rawhide once again. We loved it then, and we love it now. thank you for presenting us the opportunity to enjoy them once again , ..... keep them coming ..!❤❤❤❤❤
Oh my God,my Mom used to sing that song. She's gone now. I used to cover my dog Simba with a blanket every night and she would kiss my hand. Unfortunately a neighbour poisoned her and gloated about it. The Natives did true justice to that guy that wanted to hurt the horse. We all have a responsibility to help and save the animals of this planet that we all share together. This episode brought back memories and made me cry a bit,but i'm glad it had a happy ending and the Natives returned the Herman to him. They understand how sacred an animals life is. Thank you for this beautiful series. God bless.
That breaks my heart 💔about what happened to Simba. I don’t understand what evil 👿 lurks in the heart of man that could cause a man to be so cruel. My sister and her husband had a dog 🐶 named Bruins Gustoff, named Gus for short and we loved him dearly. One day the neighbor called my sister at work and told her that Gus was acting sick. My sister came home right away but Gus had died before she got home. Someone had poisoned him. Perhaps he wasn’t poisoned intentionally. Maybe there may have been a lot of gophers and they were just trying to kill the gophers. 😢😢😢😢
This story has a profound lesson. We need each other, young and old, weak and strong. We have things we want to do and seems like we can't when the weak hold us back. We can achieve goals but what is the cost? We are better together when we respect and love each other.
Sweet Herman! Linda Evans was so young and pretty here. “Wagon Train” was a wonderful show. As my pop would say, They just don’t make them like this anymore.
This was such a tender & touching episode!! I watched Wagon Train as a young child, but don't remember having seen this one before!! Such a beautiful lullaby!! ❤❤ I noticed the credits list the young actor who befriended the old man as "Tim McIntire." I wonder if he was the real-life son of John McIntire (the wagon master).
I liked a lot of parts in this movie. I think it started when the crew on the train decided go out of their way to help get that horse and old man across into California. But when he started singing that lullaby to that horse about 15 minutes in, I hit the Like button! He sang well, played well and was lovable. Everyone was so good to them. Plus the Arapaho tribe fixed it so it was unanimous, and that was refreshing! I liked Linda Evans in this role better than any other. She looked so simple that I didn’t recognize her. She was so sweet and caring, wasn’t she?
Such a great episode, Herman, the old fella, Charlie and all the rest so attentive to finding a solution. The Indian Corn Lei and the Angels in Heaven lullaby 🙏🏼😭🤗
Wagon train is one of my all time favorite classic western series. With an all-star cast it's a tragedy though I was watching one of these episodes. And the ending was just cut off with about ten minutes left? I'm not sure why? or what happened? But again it's a shame because these great classic western series. Are ment to be seen in there entirety of each episode.
I know what you mean. Not all of the uploaders are as conscientious & caring as this uploader is!! Wagon Train was a 1-hour show on TV. When you see an episode posted on RU-vid, notice the run time. If it isn't at least 44-45 minutes long, it isn't complete - don't bother watching!! One that is 48-50 minutes long is a gift; those generally include the credits!! ❤❤
THIS WAS A WONDERFUL AMAZING EPISODE. THANK YOU MUCH FOR POSTING IT. FROM THE MOMENT MR. CALDWELL SONG THE LULLABY TO HERMAN, I CRIED FOR THE REST OF THE SHOW. THAT SCENE WAS SO TENDER AND SO BEAUTIFUL. THE LOVE BETWEEN MEN AND THE BEAUTIFUL HORSE, A GREAT WONDERFUL CREATION OF GOD ALMIGHTY. THE STORY BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES BIG TIME. THEY DON'T MAKE TELEVISION SHOWS LIKE THIS ANYMORE. TODAY WE LIVE IN SODOM AND GOMORRAH. WHAT IS NO MORE MORALITY IN THE USA. ONLY AMONG THE FEW. NO ONE OBEYS GOD'S LAWS ANYMORE EVERYONE WANTS TO DO THEIR OWN THING LIKE IN THE DAYS OF THE JUDGES IN THE BIBLE. READ THE LAST VERSE OF THE BOOK OF JUDGES IN THE BIBLE. AND EVERY MAN DID THAT WHICH WAS RIGHT IN HIS OWN SIGHT. THAT'S THE STATE OF THE US AND THE WORLD TODAY.
