I love this whanau.... their aroha for us helped kept us city kids in touch wit our Maori and therefore right from wrong. I was 18 and lost then and the wehi whanau gave my drunk arse unconditional aroha and patience. I am 58 now been dry for just over 20 years and because of naan, pop,Vicky her whanau and hapu , I learnt that the Reo like te Maori can never be lost. I also went on to attain a diploma in education Kura kaupapa and a degree at Waikato uni in my early forties. I was with Burt, Val and Mita when the Kura o te Rakipae whenua was started then we moved to the marae.
