I’ve had 2 pairs of Tekton’s and a center channel. I just ordered my 3rd pair. All I can say is, best speakers I’ve owned in this hobby for 35 years. WORTH EVERY PENNY AND THE WAIT!!!

You are 100% right sir. Yours was one of the many reviews I watched before I ordered a pair of Tekton speakers, sight unseen and unheard. I took a well researched chance. After I ordered over the phone, that was it. No further communication by email. My wait was twelve weeks though I was told six. Then one day I received the charge confirmation by email. (I did get an email two to three weeks prior telling me they were waiting for the paint to dry and then they would be shipped in a few days. It was at least two weeks.) I was told the grills, that I already paid for, would follow in three weeks. It’s been over two months. I can’t be happier with the speakers. They are better than what I was hoping for as I was replacing very old but very good speakers. I just wanted a change. So that worked out. But as far as the grills are concerned I’m really pissed about them. I’m forced now to email them to get them sent. It shouldn’t be this way. Bottom line… Tektons are well worth the money. His seven tweeter array flat out works. Just plan on waiting well beyond what you’re told and don’t expect any customer service. Most bad reviews you read about Tekton is about the lack of service and communication. They are correct and it’s up to you to decide if you want to put up with this crap or not.

@@johnanderson8096 As happy as I am with the Tekton's sound, I am really pissed off about the grills. I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED THEM! I don’t want to look at the drivers. I can’t recommend them because of his poor service which is very poor before the sale, nonexistent after the sale. If I could I’d send them back for a refund.

@@danbrodersen5838 I bought the Enzo XL. I added the seven tweeter array with upgraded crossovers and speaker wire binding posts. While I’m more than happy with the sound quality I’ve become disgusted with the poor customer service. It’s going on ONE YEAR and I still haven’t received my speaker grills that I already paid for! When I contact them, and it’s ME always having to call THEM, I get the same old runaround about "oh, we’ll contact the guy who makes the grills"… then nothing. I’ve emailed them and they don’t respond. Tekton really sucks with product support and sucks at giving you everything you paid for. Initially it took me a long time to receive them during Covid. I understand. He’s a small company. I understand. But please. Nearly one year for the grills? With no assurance when I’ll see them. Had I known this in advance I wouldn’t have even considered Tekton. At this point I’m sorry I bought them.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It is expected to wait a while as these speakers are made to order, but it is still nerve racking to spend so much money and have to wait so long and not get any feedback. I do wish there were a showroom to listen to this speakers though the cost of money, time and satisfaction is too high to make a decision like this and be upset in the end. I look forward to more videos. Keep up the good work, this is a great service t people like me who always get th itch to upgrade but can't reaLLY AFFORD IT. Thanks again and enjoy!

YT decided to drop this vid in my stream, otherwise I wouldn't have seen your channel. Wasn't even searching for Tektons, though I gave them strong consideration several years ago, especially during all of the hype. This is excellent advice. These speakers are basically handmade to order, particularly with regard to finish. So they take awhile. People should know that going in. I didn't even know that you can't add grills after the fact, so very helpful to anyone considering this brand. I hope that you're enjoying them and playing with some different amps and preamps, but I'm a miser like you, my friend, so I know how it goes....

Thanks for the info! How did you end up liking that Audio-gd preamp and which model was it? I have Audio-gd headphone gear, a very old DAC/amp and a new R1 DAC and Master 19 amp. I've heard the R11 too. I'm a huge fan of all their headphone stuff. Haven't tried any of it on speakers, but I think I will need to soon.

In regards to the finish, has someone gotten their shiny gloss finishes instead of the soft gloss? Seeing that people have complained about the quality of the soft one, I’m a lot more curious about the shiny one to see if it’s a lot better.

The long wait and kinda meh customer service were definitely not something I was expecting but I am pretty happy with my Pendragons. I am interested in getting a pair with one of the arrays, but I'll probably have to wait a few years for the wife to agree!

Last year I purchased a pair of Encore speakers and I love the looks of them and their sound, but I too have had a poor customer experience. I paid for the grilles at a cost of an additional $125, but they never arrived with the speakers. The first time I contacted the company I was told the grilles would arrive in about two weeks. However, they did not arrive and I once again contacted them and was told they were having trouble with the supplier. It's now been over 15 months and still no grilles! I've given up hope of ever receiving the items. I love the speakers, but I would never consider buying another set due to the complete disregard for their customers.

I’m going through that myself. It’s coming on the one year anniversary for the grills. Eric doesn’t give one sh*t for his customers or repeat business. My brother likes my Enzo XL but wouldn’t buy from Tekton after seeing my treatment.

I was not aware of this video until today. We're glad Omar is enjoying his Tekton Design loudspeakers. I can assure everyone this is not how we operate regarding customer service. As CEO my policy is every order receives a confirmation email. Our assistant at the time [Tammy W.] was dismissed shortly after your transaction (July 2021) for failing to confirm orders and failing to follow through on customer service-related needs (touch-up paint, etc...) - Eric Alexander

Can you please let us know where you stand now? Searching the web, there seems to be a bit of a theme around Tekton's poor customer service. Has certainly made me apply the breaks on giving Tekton my business. Thanks.

@@1SilentWitness1 Our grille builder was in a motorcycle accident. He's been back since January and is doing a fantastic job. We have definitely gone through some trying times in the past where we could not keep up with demand in the way of orders and updates, and could have done better about communicating with our customers during that time. We have invested in new technology and processes to streamline our operations and reduce lead times. Beware customer service is terrible & keep in mind Tekton resale value isn't going to be good either you might want to go with a better name brand so you don't get killed on the resale value

On the copyright thing, i have a video of a track by a certain artist, i have no copyright strikes, its been up around 6 years - maybe because in the Description on the video, i put a link to the artists website, a link where i bought the track etc. Maybe if you put this in the description, you may be able to play the music you want, just a suggestion, hope it helps.

I started out this hobby with the cheapest receiver, the cheapest CD player, cheap turntable, cheap bookshelf speakers, but still totally enjoyed my analog setup. I just bought what I wanted mostly based on price and looked for good enough reviews. Don’t stress about it, I think they’re all going to sound mostly good, so buy based on your gut and don’t second guess.

Tekton does have a problem with over promising under delivering when it comes to delivery of products they need to be doing the opposite and say it will take a while and if it comes earlier than expected people are never disappointed. I have the Neebo speakers which I absolutely love I feel at the price point nothing can compare at 3 times the price point on or two might compare. I was very frustrated with grills and excuses at six months in on wait for those when it started to approach a year wait Houston we have a problem. Expect to wait alot with this company. Is it worth it? Yes 1000% worth the wait.

I have to say, I’m disappointed in their lack of following up for the grille orders. How can they not give some updates? That’s wrong. If I buy a pair, it will probably be in person. They’re only 30 minutes away. I’ll try to snag something he has ready to go out the door.

So 12 weeks is not that UN-reasonable. I ordered a CNC kit, and it took 3 months to arrive due to the popularity of the item. These days we all want it now!!!! Amazon has kind of spoiled us. I remember ordering things from a catalog before the internet exisited, and sometimes it would takes weeks for the to to arrive.

I wasn't a fan of their customer service/communication at all. I did a little pre run by just buying speaker wire from them... it was a pain in the a$$ experience. Don't feel completely comfortable dropping 1000s on that company. I'm sure they deliver the goods...I just didn't like the communication. Seemed a little to "whatever"/mom and pop for taste.

Had the nearly the same experience. Did he also give you the story of, "oh we recently lost 2 of my grill builders recently Blah, blah, one went to their family's business, blah blah, I'll send them out to you right away"... He did seem apologetic about it however, here I am 2-1/2 months later (AFTER the previous 7 months of ordering). Sorry this is business and you should always stand behind your word, if not then your word is no good, no matter what the excuse. Plus the paint process is less desirable. If you brush up against the speaker there's a white (underneath coating) scratch that appears. Honesty I do not know how I acquired so many scratches? I even took pictures after unboxing & setting up, and scratches were not shown in the pictures. I don't recall any harsh movements or bumping into anything afterwards, but they're still there from something. Had it not been for the $370+ dollars to send them back they would definitely be gone. Should of just invested a little more in the Klipsch Heresy IV, or Forte IV in the first place. Would have received them quicker WITH Grills and a better finish from a reputable dealer IMHO. Wish I had seen this video prior...

Probably even worse in the time of Covid! I am curious concerning Tektons. May eventually go with some Pendragons. Why? Not interested in horn-like arrays that provide super clean but potentially edgier top ends. I hear the Pendragons are warmer with excellent bass extension. THAT is my wheelhouse. We'll see. Their problem is They're a smallish company with TOO GREAT A BURDEN for one guy, Eric. If he had any sense he'd hire some TOP NOTCH customer service reps and stick to designing! Customer Service is a very important sector for any business!

I like to tell people the truth. The good of company and the bad. First the good. After reconting them, they did send me some touch up paint and there is a woman in customer who almost seems like a 1 woman show. Whenever I get any good service it always seems to come from her. The bad: I still would love to see them from a trasparancey standpoint , 1 Let people know befor they order that there is going to be a 8 week wait period. I would would say that 80% of people would still order. Their product is a good one. 2. Let people knwo about the canclation policy up front. Both of thses things should be on the order page not the FAQ. Who reads a FAQ when making an order? They are well made and should be a very good investment . IF they make the company practice, match they will have it " made in the shade driinking lemonade"

Yeah man the interactions I had with Eric were less than enthusiastic..kind of rude and forgetting that I am a customer ...he needs to step away from dealing with customers and shape up their overall support and be more clear with customers a out timeframe.

Seemed like a really honest review of this brand but I think you let them get away with way too much!!! Not only is not telling anyone about the 3 month wait a disgrace, but also could be seen as a very lucrative scam!!!! You pay your money, 3 month wait sir, WHAAAT??? I'll cancel, that'll be 15% sir, thanks for the $250 & you have a nice day sir!!!! I wouldn't mind doing that for a living. As for your chip on the paintwork, they ignored you, would they have ignored you if a driver wasn't working? I'm sure they have many happy customers but you should judge any company by what they do when something goes wrong. Personally, I wouldn't give a company like this the price of a phone call, let alone buy their products.

15% cancellation fee when Tekton does not make it clear that it can take up to 3 months to arrive! I would not buy from such a company. There are plenty of other companies making high quality speakers as good or better that don't make one wait 3 months, regardless of the current shipping bottlenecks, etc.

This is a boutique speaker company which works on a much smaller production facility compared to the big boys aka Focal, Klipsch, JBL etc. I heard these and they sound more like a front full range projection PA speaker verses a hi-fi speaker. Not that is a bad thing for most people.

I'll talk about the sound - thin and screechy to my ears. After the endless hype I went to hear them four times in the Tekton rooms at RMAF over 2 years. Each time I came away thinking; "Wow those sounded terrible to me." So I'll stick to my Revels, Vandersteens, Omegas, Sonus fabers and Mark Audios. I honestly believe that psycho-acoustics plays a large role in the Tektons since advertising is a Thing and it works. Either that or y'all are hearing something I'm not hearing. And it's not like anyone including me can be bothered to do actual blind testing.

Your comment makes sense to me. I had Revels (gave them to my brother) and now I have Tektons. I like my Tektons, but they indeed can sound thin and unpleasant - with me this happens with badly recorded or mastered music. With well recorded and mastered music it is quite the opposite. What this is, is the double edged sword of audiophile equipment, where Tektons fit in. So the ravings are genuine, but they aren't the whole story. Revels certainly are also very very good speakers, and I will at one point probably go back to them, but Tektons are very good for audiophiles on a budget.

The speakers you mention are not underachievers. I have not had that experience with those speakers but having said that I did not have a lot of speakers to compare them to. Various components have been in and out of my system but the speakers until the Tecktons stayed the same. One thing I realized was just how important the room was for the sound. My Silver 6's went into the bedroom and sound 20% better than they did in the living room. I listen mostly to well recorded acoustic jazz and after proper placement ( A lot of work proper) The sound great. Bi Wired have anything to do with it? Can't say.. Got my Silver 6's on my 50th Birthday and at 65 that's about it for me for speakers. Same for pre-amp. (The one I have been threatening to review for 2 months now lol. Thanks for sharing your experience .
