Kang the Conqueror might be one of the most iconic big bads in Marvel Snap, but he never gets played. If you opened him in a Spotlight Cache and need a cool deck to play him in, this looks like it'll be your best bet.

Power Estimate: This deck felt quite strong, and seemed to catch a lot of people off guard right now. Its overall data is good too, just not at the upper echelon of the meta. Kang does not feel like a fundamental piece of the deck, but he makes a little sense sometimes.

@@Absolute-MelodyYeah any random effect or generations that happen on a Kang turn (danger room deaths, where a destroyed Wolverine would land, Hellcow discards, Nick Fury cards generated etc etc) should all play out the same way as far as I'm aware, entirely possible there are some interactions that can change that or are unaffected, I couldn't tell you what they were though.

Kang should be carefully reworked 🤔 Maybe a 0-0 to restart any turn like a handtrap or 5-0 restarts the turn and gains like +2 power for every card the opponent plays without dissapearing idk

I have been playing him in a Cerebro+Goblins list with Ravonna which is a little thematic since she and Kang are a couple. And he works in it, getting the Kang free draw is not that rare and helps the deck a lot and is also good in combination with the Goblins to play them in a "safer" way

I sometimes use Kang in my deck to thin out my hand. He is basically free to play and doesn't take a spot on your board. And if you play him the same turn you draw him (not common, but does happen) you don't even lose out on a card draw. In addition to these Moon Girl/She-Naut decks, I feel like he fits pretty well in a Dracula drop deck.

I run Kang in my Tribunal/Galactus deck and it's gotten me to infinite twice now. It feels so nice to snap with impunity while you have Kang.

Same with my LT deck. Not only bluff snaps when I dont get the combo but also just gathering info. He saved me from an Alioth killing my LT among other successes. And if I draw him on turn 5, 6, or 7 (or turn 4 after electro) he becomes a free draw too.

Kang needs to just be somewhere between 1-3 energy so that you can make a sneaky play early or call someone's play out in the mid-game with a cosmo or a negasonic or echo etc etc etc. Give you a way to see a Lockout with storm coming or something. Having it cost 5 just makes him borderline unplayable. You still wouldn't be able to do any jank if he cost less, no nonsense like bouncing him or anything due to his effect essentially deleting him. I really hope to see him drop down into the early to mid-game cost range where he can be more impactful (and have a higher skill ceiling around when is best to use him)

Alternatively, they can just make Kang a different sort of Daredevil, and prevent your opponent from changing their play once you see it coming.

My favorite deck right now- Lockjaw Dracula Dump- uses Kang to great effect. It's easy to dump him from hand when playing for Dracula, and pulling him from Lockjaw/Jubilee thins your deck. You can even play him on Lockjaw to see what you'll pull from your deck, informing your decision for next turn. One of the few decks with Kang synergy. Deck list: Wasp - M'baku - Lockjaw - Thor - Jubilee - Dracula - Kang - Jane Foster - Infinaut - Magneto - Giganto -Chavez. Basically just the list from a Dekkster video but with Vision swapped for Kang. Feels like a meme, but it's not bad at all.

I bet Kang would be decent in a galactus deck/alioth ramp deck, just good insurance on a potentially sketchy galactus play, if they think you're going to galactus a location they'll always play their biggest card there and you get to adjust your strategy if necessary

Kangs biggest value: he’s a better Chavez. If you’ve never used Chavez, she NOTICEABLY makes the cards you want appear in your hand faster by taking that last deck spot. Unfortunately, she also shows up on all your turn 6s. If you replace her with kang, you’ll always get an extra pull for his spot in your deck, giving you the advantage of Chavez without the drawback

I was thinking of a way to change Kang without straight deleting what he does know, and I think it would be a cool idea if Kang didn't just dissapear but change for a Kang in your hand from "another dimension" with a random ability and a better stat line.

The other bonus to kang in this deck is that if you moongirl he and she hulk, playing one kang gets rid of both. Freeing your hand to potentially draw infinaut on 6 or 7 when you might not due to a dull hand

I also find him pretty good in a JaneJaw deck. Pulling him from Lockjaw or Jubilee makes him free deck thinner, and if you play him on Lockjaw then you'll see what you'll get after the reset. Him plus Chavez makes it really hard to lowroll on your pulls and its felt pretty good. That being said, it still wouldnt surprise me if they changed him a little bit to be more enticing in more decks.

I play kang in my black panther list to reach infinite for the past 3 seasons , very usefull to check for anything capable of disrupting my combo and sometimes being able to bluff a snap and get a free retreat because the opponent thinks i have arnim can also use him as cycle + info if i draw him on 5 or 6 and am missing combo pieces but it's quite rare , I think the best part about this card is the opponent snapping back to kang thinking he'll get 8 cubes and then retreating for 1, always get them pulling the thanos snap emote because they're butthurt it's hilarious xD

He doesn't lower your card count at all. You draw him as a normal card. He would serve to lower your hand count, if you're trying to make Strong Guy work.

i would change kang effect and stats to be more like 2/-5 "at the end of turn 5 if you are winning with kang, end the game, if not remove kang from your board, cant be play on turn 5 or later"

Kang has been great for me in conquest, playing him with a shuri-skull and shenaught hybrid with magik makes the deck way less risky against all the decks running legion, it also works well to bluff snap, which is especially threatening in a shuri deck cause the opponent will have to really guess on if you are snapping with kang or cause you have the shuri-infinaut/redskull combo

They should change Kang to be like a 10 power card, so you don’t always need to include him in your deck just for his ability. He should also restart the turn including himself but his ability won’t activate more than once per game kinda like how Magiks ability just turns off after turn 5

Except not at all. If you don't play Kang on the turn you draw him, he doesn't replace himself with a new card, you just do your normal draw, so you're at -1 for hand size.

I feel like Kang needs a buff of some kind that lets him be used to alter RNG in your favor, perhaps instead of restarting just one turn he should backtrack to the previous turn but cost one more. Although it might give a little too much safety. Kang's abilities are pretty tough to buff/nerf without a serious overhaul of the card :c

I dont get the hate for kang, yea hes not the best but hes good to thin out decks and u can see what ur opponent is gonna play. I dont have him but on paper that sounds pretty good no? Most people even use chavez to thin out decks so why not use kang
