I’m learning how to play the actual game as a mid 30 year old father of a 6 year old who loves the collecting aspect and wants to play the game. It is a fun way to bond and learn more about the cards and what makes the rare cards worth so much. So I say go for it, learn and take us through the journey.
Answer is yes! You should play it. Try playing Battle Academy with your kids and you’ll catch up fast and have a good time. Don't go to Live straight away, Meta now is too broken with Charizard, Lost Box, Roaring Moon etc. If you're a beginner it can be demoralizing to play… so just start slowly and you'll have a lot of fun 🎉
You're fine and can easily learn how to play. I suggest learning on the online game. I'm 30 and really just learned how to play the past 6 months. Online will help you understand everything initially. Playing in real life is a lot different since you have to shuffle and do everything yourself. Would be dope for you to collab with someone on learning to play Like CTR or Rev or whoever. Then yall build your decks, and play in a small tournament against each other. That way it is a noob vs a noob.
Booster boxes are great. Already got most of the set out of 2 booster boxes. The SIR and the Gold cards are tough to pull. Haven't got any of those in 76 packs opened so far. We do have 9 IR and 4 full art ex cards. We have all but 3 of the regular ex cards.
Yeah, Danny Phantump opened 1851 boosters to complete the master set Edit: From booster boxes. He did open other products aswell but didnt count them in the total although some pulls may have been added into the master set
Will your new VaultCity Packs include one photo of Nick's feet?😂😂😂 epic CTR stream Bianca Stood him up bad tonight. 26 box no show gotta respect the grind. It's BLAZIKEN 2.0
hahaha dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge!!!! Classic!!!! Some nice artwork, but no chase card in this set for me. Which is ok, saves me money. lol Mind over matter!!! (Though I haven't played the card games since 2002) ha Sets are coming out wayyy too fast. Pokemon needs to chill a lil bit.
Your mind is not too old to play the game - as much as we love making fun of your age; I just turned 33 and I've been playing for a year now. It's addictive and very easy to pickup the basics, I say go for it man!
Pokémon vault, buy my personal collection I have master sets of fossil base at two obsidian flames, 151 paradox, rift, and XY evolution I’m trying to get out of Pokémon
I LOVE THE TCG ITS SO FUN! I downloaded the app on my phone recently, it makes it easy to play when you don't have the time or money to make physical decks
I HATE the redesign of Entei Raikou and Suicune it's AWFUL!!!!!!! Ps Sean please try not to tilt the card so much that your studio lights will shine so much on the cards that you don't see the card anymore
I know i cant follow im 45 and I Just buy pokemon for my 9years old dather. Im broke, but I Just have to work harder or get free pokemon cards. My dather love the shiny cards and I thats all she need to see and she is so happy. That makes my day. Do any one want to send my dather Zara? Just let me know
I just started playing in December and I’m loving it! 90s kid and I also play with other 30+ year old adults! Its a lots of fun. Go to your LGS and ask around!
Release day I opened a gold Iron Leaves & Acespec Neo Energy. Felt pretty lucky. Hoping to find the Chatot art card! Definitely recommend learning as I am myself.
I only have one it's maximum pressure all the time 😂 you are hilarious G. You are like us South Africans, swing first 😂 I recently started playing from Nov last year, not only is the playing community so accommodating but they are so friendly. Please learn how to play and you will see how competitive it actually is. Stay true brother.
This set is OK. Def some cool artworks, but it just doesn't hit for me like SWSH Era and back. As for playing the game, it actually is fun and adds another layer to the hobby. As others have said, the online play is the way to go. It basically holds your hand by letting you know you still have plays left during your turn by highlighting cards that still can be used. That's how I got back into the current meta
I know absolutely nothing about pokemon competitive play. Learn away then teach me 😆 I do think the artwork in this set is beautiful. There are a couple of commons/uncommons that I think would have made excellent IRs
I’m local and would love to learn more about the pokemon tcg. The only one I play right now is one piece, Ive only ever collected Pokémon but now I’m kinda up for playing. Let’s link up!
I'm honestly just getting back into opening cards as I stopped after binders being stolen when moving as a kid had 2 full binders 1999 Pokémon 1st edition all gone but let's get back to it again. Enjoying your content keep it up
I'd like some TCG gameplay content. I play a bit on TCG live, although I'm not very good. Still it helps me appreciate the cards more. I'm in my 40s and just learned last year so not too late for Vault.
The artwork is better than swsh, the problem is, the pokemon they choose for the sets are meh, or they do some stuff like really screw with the legendary dogs looks. Let's take Raikou who looks like a dope saber tooth tiger, and turn him into a brontosaurus with a cloud around his neck. Dafug? All for alternate versions and the paradox idea, but they could've actually made them cool. Iron Leaves and Iron Crown are dope though.
Never too old to play i seen ages between 3-60+ play the card game. My only thing about it is for those that are very competitive get very serious when playing. If you’re wanting to just play for fun, find a casual location.
Personally not into the tcg as much from a playing perspective, but that doesn't mean 103k other people also don't like it. I'd say do whatever makes you happy!
Not sure how I feel about it. I opened two ETBs and a BB. Pull rates were rough for me. Artwork is pretty clean, but woulda liked some fire in it! My kids and I enjoyed the video!!
The pull rates aren't good but the set is decent. Find it hard to believe they short printed this set if the pull rates are going to be this bad. TCG wasn't that hard to learn. I just started during Paldean Fates and caught on pretty quick and I'm older than you lol. Just look up what the current OP deck is and rock it but hope you got some code cards laying around if you're planning on doing the online TCG.
Someone or someone's is buying out sir's and jacking the prices...it's not a kids game any more. I'll wait until things settle down before diving in. Solid set though!
Learn to play! It makes collecting more fun when you know what the cards can do. Knowing you pulled a card with beautiful artwork and is also broken play-wise is so cool!
Why not learn how to play! Me and my whole family learned how to play 5 years ago and haven't looked back. Its almost as addictive as opening up packs, almost lol.
It'd be fun to catch a how to play as you learn how to play strongly in competitive. I played back in the day (base-gym heroes) but there's a lot that's new mechanically
It's not hard to learn to play, like the actual, what you can do in your turn and when your turn is over and then when your appointment goes. but what's hard is strategy and how to build a deck. I think it'd be interesting to see him learn it, But I don't know how to really channel that into a video. Unless he does like a trip to a league night and makes it a more social aspect kind of like he does with his garage sale videos
Rotation(cards with letter E become illegal) is next Friday the 5th and a good amount of these cards are changing the meta. Specifically the ace specs.
The game's fun! I'm around your age and its great to play. The app is a fantastic way to get into the game, it helps you'll have a zillion code cards too. Also i def agree that the sets come too fast, its annoying having to switch decks around every few months as a player, and I feel spread too thin on buying stuff as a collector
Hey what’s good vault, I think you should watch a how to video with us and learn together I just started playing competitive at 34 years old lol. I thought it was a young sprouts game, a game of young athletes and here I am slapping everyone in tcg live lmao but honestly it’s fun and cool to learn with others I’m glad you liked this set I’m trying to master set it
I would love to see vault try to pick up TCG, if anything it could serve as a tutorial for someone who's getting into it themselves, and gives an opportunity to get your local card shop involved.
I’d be down to check out some competitive vids from vault, just as long as they don’t take up the slots of opening videos, unless maybe if it’s only once per week or soemthing
I want to see Vault training for tcg play. I learned last year to play with my kids. Its fun. You can do it, i did. Its been a fun format to play so far, just glad for rotation and new mechanics.
I’m living temporal forces so far. The pull rates are crazy different compared to other SV sets definitely falls into a collectors favor. The players tho idk
You can venture into the actual competition space if you want to vault, I know myself I've connected the cards since I was a boy and never learned how to play. Be interesting to say the least if you video how-to's as you learn.
Learning to play is fun! Going to regular pokemon league is fun after learning, even if loss. Skip the league challenges and cups for now until understand the game more.
I can say that learning the game and playing with the new set it's been a challenge finding the perfect deck. And we are the same age so yeah Pokevault, you can manage to play too. Good luck on your battles.
Tough box, kinda felt like Paldea Evolved but like the set. Would like to see Vault learn the game, am an old man too and am intimidated by the idea of going to a local game store and playing with a bunch of kids who know the game in and out. Wish local game stores had an old man’s beginner night.
At 43 learning to play the game is not something I’m going to do… collecting is enough for me. No doubt this is a tough set to pull from, but it won’t stop me collecting it, the art work is amazing
My take on you learning to play the Pokemon TCG is that it should be pretty easy as I am also looking to learn to play pretty soon as well. My boyfriend says that Pokemon TCG is too easy as kids play it at the highest level as well, and I should probably get into playing Yu-gi-oh if I want any challenge. Apparently it bores him a bit now, but then again, he played it as a kid where as my dad told me it was evil and not to get, watch, or play with anything Pokemon. I say if I am a few years shy of 30 and I am highly considering playing, you should too! Even if we are worse than kids at the game, lets all give the Pokemon TCG a shot at least
It’s got Totodile line so it’s a winning set for me, I only just started learning the game myself Feel like it’s easier to grasp than Yu-Gi-Oh!, as that isn’t insane
