TERA IS BACK! Are you excited?!

I remember fighting my first BAM solo as mystic, 10 minutes of kiting, healing, and so much spamming, back when BAMs were actually BAMs. Finding out they'd been nerfed to the point being oversized trash mobs made me sad.

As a 7 year Tera veteran, I ended up in private servers after the official game shut down. While the private servers were nice, there was a lot of favoritism that ruined the experience. I eventually quit playing and decided to put my Tera nostalgia cravings to rest. It's truly infuriating in how they keep trying to tarnish and ruin the remaining memories of such a beautiful and amazing game, even after its official death.

I can't imagine Tera ever working on mobile, Tera selling point is it gameplay, and it gameplay is impossible on mobile.

This just makes me really sad. I miss playing old TERA. It was one of the first MMOs I ever got into and it was amazing. After it went into decline, I chased the high of its combat in other MMOs but never really found it. I think the closest thing I've gotten to it so far has been Lost Ark

I miss Tera. It will always have a special place in my memories with my friends and guild. I do not miss the poor optimization and lack of server care. I let go, yet still find this sad.

It they called it something like Tera Reborn or such, sure, no problem. But calling it Tera Classic when they've made dramatic changes to it? No.

Wild Star classic is what I want and what the genre needs let's be honest.

I was so hyped at first. Why even call this abomination Tera Classic?

We are in menma's tera if you want to play tera again mmobyte. The servers for it are in europe but you can use a skill prediction utility that makes inputs client side so it's no problem. People play from all around the world.

As someone who had gotten 7 out of his 8 characters to level 65 (like an AMANI Slayer, Priest and Lancer) this is going to be a hard pass for me. I've gone out of my way to avoid playing Elins because I absolutely hate them and now the tank and support class are exclusive to them? Screw that. And the fact that it's cross platform just screams to me it's going to be a half baked mobile game. Also, a phone number? What is this, Overwatch 2?

Tera was pretty big on Twitch and Justin for a year or so before that, the battlegrounds were a challenge. Sounds like the IP was available at a discount and they saw the cosmetic sales for Elins.

Tera had the most fun dungeons I've ever played in this genre of game, and PVP is really mechanically fun though its not well balanced but I still enjoy it casually.

If I remember correctly as it's been years, but Elins were the best Lancers due to their animations, because they leaped forward with their attacks, their hit boxes were much larger than the other races. I remember when my clan, we were testing out hit box range and speeds, and for many cases, Elins for whatever reason came out on top.

Don't hurt me like that man, TERA used to be my favorite MMO back before it was planned to turn f2p. I was one of the EU founders and played since day 1 and kept on playing up until the Gunner genderlocked class released, to this day i feel like there's nothing that plays like TERA did especially not like Warrior on controller (my poor Logitech Controller has every right to report me to the police with the amount of abuse it had from me maining Warrior xD) so I keep looking back at TERA every once in a while only to be heartbroken again and again. Not only because of how everyone in existence remember TERA as the garbage f2p game that it actually was for a long time until the official shutdown, and not how good it was once upon a time, but also because of how its name is going to be abused with this upcoming mobile game (I know its existence is kinda old news, think you covered it before, I could've forgotten...) that'll be the final nail in the miserable coffin.

I will never understand the logic behind race locking a class. If optimizing your players immersion is even a goal, why take away their options?

Oh hell naw. Playpark is the one going to handle this. This shit is going to be a cashgrab. Playpark is literally like Netmarble and Netease.

I've never been so excited to watch a video and then upon watching quickly turning to sadness. I want Tera back so badly but never will resort to play mobile or private servers.

Well...considering Tera Classic came out a while ago in Korea, it's no surprise to me.

The Tera Starscape private server has the Tera game preserved in museum condition and this is something all top tier closed games should do, honorable mention to Swords of Legends r.i.p..

I remember trying to play this game when I was 13 years old. I stopped after the first few days because I did not understand what I was doing or what I needed to do. Despite my negative first impressions, knowing what this game was and could have been with the right support, its depressing to see it in this state. Hell its depressing to see any mmo in this state as if putting a classic at the end of it would revive the game to its former glory.

Better head to private servers that truly care about the game, Strife Tera(Classical approach), Menma instant 70 endgame stuff etc.

Whenever I see any MMO cross platform with mobile all my interest goes down the toilet....I hate how that's a norm these days.

Company > makes game that instantly grows to be a rising challenge to WoW and even entire WoW _guilds_ move to their new game (seriously, my friend and her guild did this). Also Company > decides to get rid of everything in the game and re-make it as an over-the-shoulder MOBA with little more than stone alleys in the zones and tosses out the BFMs mostly. Company: "Why we lose all our players?"

Tera was an amazing game I loved playing on Celestial Hills and do remember buying the wolves you’re character could ride when they were half off.

tera was my 2nd action combat mmo and its gameplay was great, every detail i heard before this video and during has only served to reinforce my initial knee jerk reaction: its all a step backwards

As a person who loves mobile games and am currently enjoying the hell out of nikke I gotta say hearing that Tera was going to be a mobile game killed any possible excitement I would have had for it... I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going to try it though lol

BAMs did drop outfits back in the day, you would get like a coupon drop which u could trade in for free outifts

As soon as you said pc play was limited to a emulator my interest died off. Up to that point I was somewhat interested as a Tera vet.

I was so happy and god so sad so quickly.

This is junk. The class change alone makes it worse than the private servers, but to not have Mystic or any of the more popular DPS classes? That's so dumb. Berserker has always been more popular than Slayer, Sorcerer always more popular than Archer, and Warrior is worse for the game than Ninjas or Reapers would be. This will fail and shut down soon after. Tera is probably the easiest MMO to bring back and do well with, but what killed the game was it's constant removal of everything good, you will never succeed with it, doing that. It has already proven this. In order to succeed with Tera, you need to bring it back, and then be willing to ADD stuff to it, whether you add all the old good stuff, or whether you make entirely new good stuff. The game died when it stopped adding new stuff and started removing stuff and replacing it with different stuff. The game never got any bigger because every big patch removed as much as it added. Civil Unrest is just worse than Alliance, but caused the full on removal of a system that was about 20% of what Tera was. Why add in Dyads with their secondary effects, if you just scrap crystals and force them onto peoples gear at a reduced value? Dungeons cycling out sucks to. Tera needs to start adding stuff. Say "Yes And". Build upon stuff. It could so easily make a come back if the devs were just committed to improving the game.

No, Tera classic should be an unadulterated unchanged version of the original. With optimizations. People loved the original for a reason and they at stripping away what made the game special and fun. Screw that.

My apologies, as someone that actually played TERA when it was Sub based... This is not TERA Classic, this is TERA Mobile. No Aman, Popori and Baraka Races. No Sorcerer, Mystic or Berserker. Yeah... This is not TERA Classic. Its Mobile. These were my thoughts BEFORE i saw the PC release was only through a Emulator.

Damn I hate you, I have been dying to get back to Tera classic but it was never released (I actually played Tera in its pure vanilla form in Korea from beta onward, now that was a fun hard game that made BAMs really BAMs to solo 1 took ages and you had to be good) You really had me going that it was finally coming and then you got into the classes and the fact it is a mobile game, thanks a bunch for bursting my bubble :( Guess it is back to Tera CZ for me

Anyone remember Hybrid Panda's GMV "Tera is Beautiful" that featured TERA characters dancing to Veela/Starz's "Second Nature"? Those were good times. In a way, I suppose going F2P led to the game's demise, but just because a game is F2P that doesn't mean they had to create all manner of stupid clown-car cosmetics that turned the game into a circus instead of a fantasy game. It doesn't mean they had to nerf BAMs. It doesn't mean they had to show obvious favoritism towards elins (short term money chasing that made the entire game its victim). It doesn't mean they had to lose the plot of their own story, which was actually pretty cool if only they could've told it right. Sigh... Nostalgia is sweet, sweet poison.

Tera was great back in it's day but the devs ruined it with predatory monetisation and a lack of effort put into fixing problems in the game. It ran like shit even on modern systems and the content got worse and worse. This seems like a company got hold of the game for peanuts and they are hoping to make a bunch of money off it before letting it die again.

WHY! WHY MOBILE!! Also why is it race locked! I admit i have an Elin lancer main in the pc version. But i play classes that doesn't fit the norm in the races like aman as a mystic, a baraka as a slayer and a berserker popori. I play mostly my lancer but aman was the main race i played in most classes
