I would say it's a bit unfortunate that the snare and toms are so low in the mix, the side snare is basically mute and the ghost notes get lost very easily. But the ride is fairly well balanced. Hopefully that's fixed for the release:)
The record is out already. Mix sounds fine to me, I can hear everything....any louder and drums would be too loud. (There is no side snare...it's a floor tom).
@@louiepalmerdrums yikes. Well there you have it, I couldn't hear it at all. Ghost notes disappear the minute my guy on the bass chips in. I'm using a dac amp combo on sennheiser hd 650s. The ride is wonderful, cuts right through but the snare is too subdued in my opinion. Maybe it's just RU-vid. I don't doubt you have an excellent crew of engineers. And your drumming is otherworldly superb. Fantastic playing.
I really enjoy your style of playing MUSIC. You play for the song not to impress - - - however, your playing is very impressive! The only thing I do not like about this video (listened to with headphones) is some of the sound of your playing got lost. Your did a lot of ghosting on the snare and I want to hear that! Don't know if not hearing it or maybe not being able to discern it is my aged hearing...regardless, well done!
