I had just been saved 2011 i remember watching Lyndsay Wallace leading worship giving her all and the church was like this. I didnt care i loved hearing Lyndsays voice she is unique. Its hard to find her singing now. I love this song too and Christy.
Worship is a mindset. It doesn't matter if you know the song or not, praise and worship is a state of mind. You shouldn't base your worship on if you know the song or not.
You can worship in silence while listening to the words of a song of praise and adoration. Worship isn't just about singing or speaking out loud. Praising and worship our Lord comes in many ways in many different forms, joyous shouts of praise, silent adoration, raising of hands, laying prostrate the list goes on and on. God knows the heart of the worshipper.
I'm a Catholic and I love this song. The crowd looks a bit stiff, but at the same time "there's a time and place for everything." We go to church to worship God, and give him thanks and praise, pray for the need of our families and community, and be strengthened for His service. Mass/Service isn't a rock concert.
We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; 4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
I was only introduced to this at worship practice on Friday. I will be singing this on Sunday morning towards the end of the service when a time of pray ministry will be taking place. May the Holy Spirit lead.
Sad to see some of these negative comments from my brothers and sisters in Christ I attend Saddleback every crowd is different we have many services many venues we all worship different This is a beautiful song She was amazing I saw her perform this song this particular weekend although not this service I worship with my hands high singing with all my heart but not everyone does and it does not mean they arent worshipping The Spirit is alive and well in this church all the time ...let us model our Jesus
Her version of this incredible song is nice in this video, but here are the problems as I see them. The first is her band here is pretty bare-bones; she only has a keyboard player who was performing the musical melody, a bass player and someone playing percussion on a Cajon drum -- I believe is what they call it. She subdued her singing because it wouldn't have been good to go all out as she did a Passion a few years before this because of her light accompaniment, where she had what appeared to be three or four guitar players, bass player, someone on drums, keyboardist, and background vocals. At Passion, she sang the song that started out low, and then the pace quickened, and at the end of the bridge it turned out in full throttle, with electric guitar blazing. This is, in my opinion, how we are to supplicate for Christ Jesus to return! And I'm convinced if all the Christians in the country could unite, and sing this song in unison with all with our arms raised as the song's lyrics state, this would hasten His return by a final great revival. As far as the surroundings, there weren't a lot of people participating and raising their arms. It wasn't in the sanctuary, because in the background there were glass doors with people wandering in and out. It wasn't a worshipful milieu. And the people were just standing there. King David was seen dancing for the Lord, and there's nothing wrong with going all out in praise of the Most High! I'm sure that Saddleback is a fine church -- I've heard of it if its the one in OC, but if we want Christ Jesus to return in the air for us, we have to do better.
Great voice, great song I love this song All we need is You ,we're waiting here for you Jesus.....Christy Nockels Not only do you have a sweet voice but also beautiful
I agree with some of the comments about the crowd being dead. I love everything about Christy Nockels. Great rendition of the song. Now...if you want to see a crowd filled with Spirit, check out Christy performing this at the Passion concert
i discovered it on christian retreat. It was the first song, and on the train journey to the retreat the holy spirir came on me and I was loosed from severe continuous religious ocd (scrupulosity). And was singing songs and hymns all the way there. The rest of the time was just enjoying the freedom mostly, with tears of joy flowing down my cheeks. This song being the first at the retreat is my favourite song of all. The melody and arrangement are awesome. I didn't like the extra bits on the end she put, and the singing prayers inbetween verse lines. Alot of worship leaders do t. Keeping it simple is best, but she is still the main singer for this song. And it's best song by a female singer.
Verse 1: If faith can move the mountains Let the Mountains move We come with expectation We're waiting here for You I'm Waiting here for You Verse2: You're the Lord of all creation And still You know my heart The Author of salvation You've Loved me from the start Chorus: Waiting here for you With our hands lifted high in praise And it's You we adore Singing Hallelujah Verse 3: You are everything You promised Your faithfulness is true And we're Desperate for Your presence All we need is You Chorus: Waiting here for you With our hands lifted high in praise And it's You we adore Singing Hallelujah Bridge: Hallelujah, Hallelujah We're singing, Hallelujah We're singing, Hallelujah *Chorus repeats until the end* Read more: Jesus Culture With Martin Smith - Waiting Here For You Lyrics | MetroLyrics
It's the heart that must be worshipping God and that what counts. But for sure when you begin to worship, what's inside your heart will show.. The song is great. The message is amazing and perfect for adoring God but sad to see that they maybe kinda not really showing it. Maybe they are a bit shy? But .. Adoring, worshipping, praising Jesus can't just kept inside. It's a great feeling to worship God raising your hands, your voice, your all, your heart to him because He deserves it.
Many people come sad to worship...let God and do not try to make anything happen, is what I had to learn...this worship can be the beginning of beautifull things that the Holy spirit is working on
Very strange that no one is actually praising!!! This song is very inspiring to enter into praise for God...people look hypnotic...very weird. The song is beautiful though
smh to these people saying this and that..I've been to saddleback a lot of times and people do worship and sing...its because they did not raise their hands they dare not worshipping...saddleback is pretty diverse..they don't sing same worship songs every sunday and every time they bring in worship bands or other bands..most of the people haven't heard their songs yet...so don't judge...can we just enjoy the worship than criticizing?..
This is a beautiful song of worship. I'm reading the comments and am a bit saddened by the comments toward Saddleback Church. In their defense, I want to express that I don't see the lyrics displayed for the congregation to follow. This was likely new to them. Had I been there, my response would have looked similar- I would have been still (knew that He was God), absorbed every lyric, and made them the prayer of my heart- that would have been my response in worship. Also, I have had the opportunity to worship at SB and the Spirit is alive and thriving there.
Thats too bad....i bet God LOVED it :) As for someone commenting on Christi 'performing'.....there's an element of performing in worship, but you can perform without worshiping . It seems like Christi is worshiping regardless of the audience "getting into it" or not. Kudos to her! It's kind of like leading a horse to water...once he's there, he has to decide to drink...Christi did her part
It's sad to see how we still judge others for how people worship, hands up or not, excited or not. Wake up, people! Have you ever noticed that the scriptures do not make a big deal about how Jesus sang songs or worshiped? His acts towards God's will were the big deal! The way he conducted his life was the big deal!
I believe God gave us free will to worship, worshipping comes from your HEART and when I listen to this song, it's filled with ALL of God's Spirit to move people! Thank you Lord for giving me the freedom of choice to have ETERNAL Life with You!
Its funny, but almost every church has a different culture, yet we worship the same Lord. I sing on the praise team at my church, which is Christian Reformed denomination. They seem to think it is disrespectful to make even a peep when we have a good performance. They seem to feel that clapping and getting excited during worship praises man and not God. I have been to many different denominations and every one of them seems to have a different take on hand clapping, showing emotions, public worship. Personally I feel it is frustrating, because we work very hard to bring an enjoyable experience of worship to our congregation, and applause helps to facilitate that. I am deeply excited about my salvation through Jesus our Christ and I feel fortunate that I get to minister to my congregation through song, and I clap and lift my hands even if they are not comfortable doing so.
I agree with you jeff, all church denomination has different style of worship, my church is a methodist church, we do sing out loud, but not clapping hand... is not use to them.. because most of them are old people, so yea, is different people, different culture and church as well... i agree what you said..
Regarding all of the comments about the audience. Was this a service or a concert? If it was a concert, that would explain the audience reaction. Some of the bigger churches have Christian concerts. We've had Lincoln Brewster, Sela, and Mandisa at our church for concerts and it's significantly smaller than Saddleback.
I don't want to be negative so perhaps this song was "performed" with the purpose of recording. Perhaps the service hadn't been filled with Gods presence yet. Perhaps the people simply didn't come with that expectation. I don't really know since I wasn't there. However the Bible has many accounts of how His people would praise him. With harp, cymbals, singers and that all the people fell to their knees and worshipped. You have to have a strong conviction and anointing from the Spirit for that ambiance. Though it seemed to be lacking in this video I won't judge them or the church but it did not seem to be occurring during that song recorded.
When did 'jesus' become someone's 'boyfriend'? This is the Christ, the Creator, and the Gospel of repentance and life has been emasculated and made into silly emotional 'personal jesus' nonsense bearing no resemblance to the Christ of Whom John the Baptist preached. It's embarrassing. Regarding the singer: she is a talent and I would love to hear her sing some hymns, sans the silly theatrics. No wonder people bow to Islam; there is no Christian foundation from which to pull. This 'I'm having my morning coffee with jesus" thing is getting old and hopefully, has run its course and orthodoxy will make a comeback. Our nation needs it desperately. It is hard to picture the founding fathers who established this free land speaking and singing in such irreverent manners.
They should of prayed over the service before it started perhaps or sing break the chains that bind us ;) Maybe its not a spirit filled church, could be
