Is there a such thing as long term shock? I know a man who lost his mother at 16. He said it took him 2 years to cry. He said all the feelings came at once and he broke down, after not feeling anything but abandonment for two years.

Took me 10 years to cry over my uncle overdose...I just thought about his kids and how I'm not picking up were he left off and it truly hurt... being a man we're programmed to show emotion means ur weak so sometimes we hide it without even knowing until we just break down

I lost my brother to the streets five years ago. And it still bothers me that he chose that life after serving a decade in prison. And it only took 14 months after he was released. His birthday was six days after mine but three years older than me. Now, I’m two years older than he ever was. My condolences goes out to Waka and his family. 💗

I respect people deal with things differently but that made me abit sad for him with how he describes how he handles trauma. Not healthy and it will come back and bite him at some point. Sad that people go through so much trauma. Having said that perhaps he is just stronger than I am as just one of those incidents would have messed with my head. 💜

It's interesting how he said these things crushed him but he just got through it. That's not healthy. I'm not the biggest advocate of therapy but he HAS TO cope with it in some way. It's not human to just keep going on when you're crushed.
