He’s doing both the man’s and the woman’s part in this, and in the original key, which is impressive enough without even adding in all the other vocal effects that Dan has in his toolkit. I have only found one song that I didn't think he did well on. I can't remember what it was because I considered it to be insignificant. Everything he touches turns to gold and fire. He sings Like an Angel, screams like a demon and looks like a Viking Lord . What's not to love?❤ Great show I love your reactions ❤
I've listened to Dan's entire catalog. There are some songs he's done where the original would never be on my playlist but he always, every time, manages to turn it into something I enjoy. I like Evanescence but this is one of my favorites of Dan's covers.
One of my faves. I was surprised at the start when you were kinda disappointed how quiet it started. Don’t you know Dan by now? He does this quite a bit. It really shows the counterpoint or juxtaposition of when he goes into “beast mode. An excellent strategy. Then sometimes he switches it up and it’s energy packed right from the start.
This was the song that showed me Dan’s incredible versatility and that he can sing anything. I had never heard of Evanescence or this song before hearing it on Dan’s channel. I didn’t even understand what I was listening to, but I loved it!😍 Ords, stop making these pessimistic pronouncements at the beginning on these songs😠! Love watching your reactions! They’re so much fun! I’ve been noticing that the lighting in your videos is a little dark, particularly around your face. I would recommend getting a soft light or a ring light and place it in front of you at a 45 degree angle. If you don’t have one of those lights yet, you can also use a desk lamp and place a piece of white tissue paper over it so the light from the lamp doesn’t look as harsh on camera when it hits your face. Hope that tip helps and best of luck on your channel! :)
This is the song I recommend when people want to hear Dan’s “most metal” song. And did you catch that note right here 8:31 that starts as one note and splits into 2 notes? It was driving me a little crazy for over a month trying to figure it out. I did a bit of a deep dive looking for answers and discovered polyphonic splitting and overtone distortion. Only very skilled vocalists can do this. I’d say Dan fits that category quite well.
you once responded to a comment i made by telling me that you were "here for it all" not just the screams and growls. yet, about 15 seconds in you are expressing disappointment that this isn't his best effort style wise or vocally. think maybe, you should have given it a little more time? I appreciate that you are super appreciative and enthusiastic about dan's performances, and i normally look forward to your reactions. however, you stifled my anticipation of your reaction with a very premature judgment of maybe my favorite song of his. i will keep tuning in, but hoping for a little more restraint before a song has truly shown itself. peace.
thanks for the comment I'm glad you are here checking it out. It's my job to be as honest and be as real as possible. I say how I feel in the moment so my thoughts wont be distorted by anything else.
