I think you guys are confused. This is not a tow boat. This is a pleasure boat. They are speed bumps to towboats. I think the most important "rules" for pleasure boaters to learn is the rules of the road. Learn navigation rules before wake boarding rules

Good callout. I just put that word in the title because it was on the title for the Axis web page I went through. I usually just call these boats wake boats or v-drives. Also agree people need to learn nautical rules. Chatted about it in here for a min but glad my parents made me do the coast guard course many years ago.

Yeah, F--K new boat owners! LOL (Just Kidding). The overlying issue is lack of licensing & education requirements like other countries have. Driving boats are harder than vehicles on the road, yet we're not required to have a license to drive one. Blows my mind!

Blows my mind too. I think that is the crux of it. No experience/license + wake monster = trouble. Kudos to Axis for putting this out and sending a marketing email about it. Love that No Power Turns was their #1.

@@LifetimeShred The campaign "Wake Responsibly" was created years ago by the WSIA, and yes, kudos to Axis for being proactive in sending the message out to their customers. Question is, how many will actually read it & more importantly, give a shit enough to follow the etiquette?

@@ryanshimabukuro3283 Good questions indeed. Probably not a ton but I bet it will still go to the inboxes of many boat owners. Maybe they will take a peak. License/certification would have a bigger impact though. I should have mentioned in the video but the original reason I stopped power turning was a clinic I was at with Charley Patterson probably in 2001. Never did it again after. I do think driving/pro clinics can help too.
