Now this is truly cinematic. Not because of the cool transitions and the nice music but because of what was captured and the way it was captured. This is art. ❤
Good work! Also good you put the gear in the title. Gear keywords are a great way to drive traffic. I like the edit alot. The chill vibe and simple cuts are right up my alley. The tight focal range of the Jupiter is amazing for these people shots. All I would add is sound. These lively shots are begging to be heard! traffic and crowds
Thank you so much for the valuable feedback bro!! You're absolutely right, I can even hear the sound effects crying to sound out, but I finished editing 5am and was mentally crashed to add anything else, so I published before 4th of July was over. And yeah, this Jupiter is a hidden gem, a total revelation!! Can't wait to see your next vid btw!
Hey Andro. I'm a New Yorker-- been living here since the 80s. I love the way you capture not just Manhattan 2020, but also it's connection to its past. There is little more wistfully beautiful than neon in the morning. (Let's agree to pretend those lights aren't LED.) One piece of advice from somebody 2 or 3 times your age-- keep making movies. You've got some talent. But movie-making is a competitive thing. You got to churn them out. Whether they're good or bad, it's a lot better than telling people about the great videos you made last year.
Awesome video, enjoyed every second of it, could you remember which picture profile you used and the settings? And would love to know the Lut you used for this.... It looks amazing
Sorry so much for the late reply! The color profile I always use is Cinelike D, the rest I leave it as per normal settings. I didn't use luts for the color grading, just a plugin for Final Cut called Color Finale, have a look at it and give it a go! Thanks for dropping by!
Sorry for the late reply Mart, I really appreciate it! NY never fails to be honest, you can film it with the crappiest camera and the footage will turn out stunning 😆 Thanks a lot again!
Excellent demonstration of GH5's abilities - but, of course, no tool is - in itself - going to deliver the goods unless the person behind the camera knows what he or she is doing - well done !
Some points that stood out: 00:53 title shot is beautiful and oozes cinematic class, so much so that I'd love for it to be a movie that I actually paid to watch; sign change from stop to walk at 01:18 synced to the beat is lovely; composition of people walking around 01:53👏🏻
Hi Andro, I just bought a Jupiter 37a because of this video, it’s in great shape for only $50. It is on my gh5 now,, just wondering how far away were you from your subject since it I 270mm on the gh5. In the little experimenting I did yesterday I am super far away , I just don’t seem to be able to get near as much n frame as you have here. Any tips? Thanks it is beautiful.
Hey Phil, thanks for dropping by! First off, I'm super humbled that you bought this lens after watching my vid. It might not look like, but trust me i was FAR AWAY from the subjects I shot that day, because this thing turns into a 270mm indeed!! Can't tell you exactly how far away I was in every shot but most likely between 30-50 meters and even more as well. It's like having a massive zoom lens but that's the beauty of it when you're shooting in the city, it covers a decent long range and it's absolutely non-invasive when it comes to shooting people, all in such a small body. Hope you're enjoying it and can get awesome shots. Oh btw I used color correction on the edit of this video so of course the raw takes don't look like the finished ones ✌🏼
What up Mike? I used a pack of LUTS from The Preset Factory, called CINEMATICA and GAIA. There's another single LUT from Ryan Nangle (if I'm not wrong) that is called Orange Dolphin, but I'm not sure if I downloaded it from his website or somewhere else mate, it's been a long time since I got it. I hope this helps and you can grade your footage beautifully!
Beautiful shots! Super dope lens! Question..this must have been shot last year or pre pandemic? Because I don't see anyone in your shots wearing masks! I'm a NY'er and July was the height of our numbers..and I'm proud to say we were really good at wearing masks! People are still wearing them in the city. Anyway, super dope work!
Thanks a lot Ken! Yeah mate it was shot last year during summer but I uploaded it on July 4th with the 2020 tag so I could have more views. I know I'm cheating but this was the only way to have a few views at least 😂. Thanks again bro, I love NY and can't wait to be back soon!!!
Looks very professional. Great shots. I love your point of view for detail. ;) You have a lot of talent. Support and greetings from Germany Marco & Racoon
@@MH-ir7ep Thanks a lot for revisiting!!! I didn't use any stabilizer to shoot this, everything was hand held. However the IBIS on this camera is insane and it helped a lot to keep everything steady ✌🏼
Hello, I'm working on a doc series and we'd like to license some of this NYC footage. I tried reaching out to you on Instagram. Please let me know how I can contact you
