Visit to the Birthplace of George Washington. Took a tour of the rebuilt house, the grounds & the Bridges Creek Cemetery (resting place of George's Father, Grandfather & Great Grandfather). / va_travels / vatravels
OMG. One of my favorite videos. You made the place come alive. Congratulations to the both of you on your recent marriage. As always the drone shots add so much to your videos. All the best to the both of you. Keep up excellent work!
Congratulations on getting married! Thanks for this video. I have been to these places before, but it is so nice to have a video record. Many of these people were my ancestors.
Big thank you for this video. As a decedent of Robert A. Rozar, a Cambridge educated minister who was friends with Lawrence and the Bridges family, as well as a neighbor to them, seeing this is awesome. Crazy learning my family predated the Washington's and were close friends. Was amazed originally to just have a descendent in the Revolutionary War.
Interesting. My relative John Muse was a neighbor of George Washington's father. John Muse's property is still in the Muse family since 1668. I'm told the George Washington National park bought a large section of the family farm to increase the parks size.
Another great video Chris. Always enjoy them. I haven't been out to Wakefield in a good many years. Watching your video prompts me to go visit there again soon. Congratulations on your marriage and enjoy England. I went there several times when I was in the U.S. Navy. Y'all are going to have a lot of fun. Y'all take care. Thanks for the video. I've tried to trace my ancestors back to this time and place. I may be descended from some of the early landowners of this neighborhood, whose name survives in the nearby hamlet of Chiltons. That may just be wishful thinking. It's more likely that they were transported felons. Most Americans don't know that the American colonies were the dumping ground for British jails until the Revolution forced Britain to replace it with Australia.
