Not been reminded of this band, album and their songs in years. Listening to this and its like yesterday. A rare album where I liked, if not loved, every song on it. So many road trips with this playing too loud on my cheap car speakers.
I'd work very hard but I'm lazy I can't take the pressure and it's starting to show In my heart you know that it pains me A life of leisure is no life you know Waking up and getting up has never been easy, Oh oh, I think you should know. Waking up and getting up has never been easy, Oh, oh, I think you should know. Oh, oh, I think you should go. Make a cup of tea, and put a record on. I'd work very hard but I'm lazy I've got a lot of songs but they're all in my head. I'll get a guitar and a lover who pays me If I can't be a star I won't get out of bed. I'm kind of stunned this video has so few views (even the VEVO version has < 3m). It's a top song from one of the defining album of the '90s. It's my favourite (or 2nd-favourite) Elastica song, depending on the day. Think of the vocal range Justine shows between this, Stutter, and Connection. Each song has a different vibe, and her singing style is unique to each. This song is soulful and mellow, yet doesn't take itself too seriously -- one of the best features of Elastica. They banged out great tunes and had fun doing it. What more can you ask of a band?
Cool tune from a superb band who I believe Damon Albarn was part of at that time, music back then was good as bands such as Elastica, Cast, Suede etc were starting to make their mark, unfortunately it did not last.
@@mar15115 I think Supergrass kept for a while, obviously not as much as the other two, although I think oasis's songs hold up a lot stronger than blurs.

Nascha Lecter he wrote tender bc she left him for her ex who she left for Damon before. Damon baby you should have known she might still have feels for her other lover before you 😭
@@supersayinyuki Brett Anderson? He and Justine never became a couple again, but I've read somewhere that they're still good friends Felt a bit sad for what you said about Damon, but I hope everyone is happy now
I love the Stranglers, but I gotta say, I'm not hearing the similarity that everyone else obviously hears. I dunno if there was a jury trial, or an out-of-court settlement, but if it was jury, and if I'd been on it, I woulda voted to let 'em walk.
@@smartalek180It’s all of it really. The black clothes, the red logo. Her delivery has a style of Hugh Cornwell too. Not to mention the fact the chord sequence is identical to No More Heroes. Definitely more than a resemblance going on I’d say!
@Clockwork Man Not my intention to suggest plagiarism as there are clearly differences but No More Heroes is definitely the building block throughout imo
