In 2003 I came to the US from an Eastern European country to study here- absolute dream and felt so free and hopeful to pursue my dreams and be myself. 2022- still here, have my dream job and my dream daughter but have so many doubts and fears about my daughter growing up here in the US.
That actually kind of hurts me. I am proud of America's heritage as the place other people look to as a beacon of freedom and prosperity. We now have a portion of our own population trying to tear that down. I hope this trend is temporary, but for now I suggest you take your daughter out of any public schools.

Keep her out of the public education system if you can help it, if you can afford homeschooling it would be preferrable over the public education system but it is very difficult and requires a lot of investment from not just yourself but the child's willingness to learn as well. Lastly be involved in your child's development and understand what your daughter is consuming whether it's entertainment or education. Obviously you don't want to be a helicopter parent, but look for ways to have a balanced form of parenting where you are involved doing things with your daughter and being a part of her life instead of allowing the internet and the system to essentially parent your child for you. If you follow through with this your daughter will be fine, but she may find herself in a smaller world being different from the drones we produce today out of public education.

I came to the US in 2004. Where I'm from, I remember, as a kid in the 1990s, if you dared saying something against the government you would never be seen again... Your body wouldn't be recovered either! Then I came here and even though we already had a more 'democratic' government, I would say people was still scared to say anything; so when I came here and saw people actually criticizing Bush and _not_ getting killed, I was shocked by it. Young people should ask those from Asia, Latin America and certain European countries how life really is without freedom of speech and during an authoritarian regime!

The timeline is kind of messing with me because in 2003 I was in university in a social work faculty. What we are living through now was what my peers and our instructors were super excited about. Very first class, very first line uttered by the indoctrinater, uh I mean professor, was “as social workers you will either become agents of social control or social change”. Here we are. I'm 30 this year and I envy those who died before 2020 when the world went to total shit. My grandma passed in December 2019. She was hospitalized on and off frequently before her death and our family was so supportive, there was always someone there with her. No heavy monitoring or protocol for guests, just come by and visit grandma when you can. Then we had a normal and very full funeral. I have been grateful she left right when she did. She told them if they didn't let her out she'd bust out. She was released a couple weeks early and got to die at home with loved ones. So so grateful.

Most people are mentally conditioned, and they will never realize that if they were conditioned to hate meat when they grew up, that they'd have a bias against that, or any food for that matter. Take cricket protein for example. It is higher in protein than beef, eggs, and tuna. It ranks higher than any proteins. They take 1 gallon of water vs 1000 gallons of water (vs. cow) to raise. Crickets are ground (minus the antennae, heads, legs) into a powder/flour, and can be used for baking, smoothies, etc. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my beef steaks, pig BBQ's, and ALL meats. However, for the price, the health benefit, and the ease of protein powders, I will eat crickets (not whole) if they are healthy (and have no taste)!
