@@Link-zm2uz Light Contact (no leg kicks) is just a rule-set, which means they can't hit so hard that it could knockout your opponent, the guys fighting in this clip are clearly not going light but not hard either. In terms of self defence, a lot of schools that teach Kickboxing for Light Contact / Point Fighting competitions don't focus on 'Self Defence'. However, if you are fit and healthy and can move your body confidently that does more for self defence than practising hours of 'what if' scenario training.
ToTheBatmobile alright 'macho' man. Obvious you don't know me. I did martial arts before Taekwondo (6 years) and Wing chun (10months) I've also been hit before. Sorry but I like not to get more brain damage thank you very much. As of right now I actually changed my mind so I'm going to a weapon martial art school instead. This is one reason why I hate open hand combat schools, narcissists like you exist and shouldn't be doing martial arts.
man! it's not problem taken hit in my head, maybe some guys are older, or for kids, so just want martial arts for recreation, where he also teach how to defend himselves on the street. no more money for my headache after match. poor paid for nothing, or nothing paid. now in my age after almost 30y of train severals martial arts and martial sports i like to teach younger no matter they gona fight or not. just to train. this is love to combat sports, but must be adjusted for all type of peoples. not everybody gona get profi range or range where get well paid, bcs for training, food, suplements, doctors, fisiotherap. operation.... also body collapse fast. alredy i have 8 bone trauma .. broken foot operation and now back, lumbal spine operation and now wait what doctor gonna say for my shoulder bcs of throwing hook i hurt and feel of pain in all arm anda sense of debris and a thorn in my 2 fingers so maybe neck spine . also much of ligaments hurts, I do not count the fractures on my punching hand (it's look deformed, also ear ) or foot. shoulder tendon on 2 place bcs of throwing hook. not funny man when spent thousend of euros for medical care. let say i'm black belt and have 38y and broken spin. what now? body is like rock outside, but broken inside. i have brave for fight, but body is out. so now only recreative and light sparing . hope you understand now. love for arts and my friends and sensei , who can buy that? nice regards
