My Walmart has one side of an isle. About a third is Redheart and Mainstay one third is hooks and books and.looms and the rest was about the same as yours Puzzle, Mandala etc….

Yeah but her husband worked hard for his money. I'm not a big fan of pioneer woman either. But I've read that they are racists like Paula Deen. I've seen the pioneer woman make slightly insensitive comments on her show about race and play it off like she's naive that she's being racist.

I tried the pioneer woman yarn...the soft stuff, and absolutely HATED it. It shed worse than my cats!...and now knowing that she's a racist (didn't even know there was a show...just thought it was a brand only), yeah...no. She can keep her crap.

I was in my local Wal-Mart recently and it's stocked similar to yours. There's not much choice there to suit me but that's me. I suppose I'm kind of spoiled with Michael's and Hobby Lobby's choices. Thanks for sharing!

It’s crazy how different Walmart yarn departments are from store to store! My Walmart barely has a quarter of an aisle of yarn that is mostly Red Heart Super Saver and a couple of Mandala Sparkle and Premier Puzzle yarns. The section is also sparsely stocked and the skeins are falling apart! 😢😢 you have a HUGE selection…I’m jealous! My Walmart doesn’t even stock their own Mainstay yarn. For reference…my Walmart yarn section is the size of your needle and hook section.

Hi Ginger ! I love the way the cardigan fits Emmy so well. She’s adorable 🤗❤️ I love the colours I think those “ crochet kits” are a total rip off. Half the cost buy the items at a dollar store and print off a pattern. Less then half that $14.97 Walmart price I can’t help but think the very end of the video was filmed just for ME ! Lol the end cap of yarn

In our Galax, Virginia Walmart, our craft department has dwindled down quite a bit possibly due to Hobby Lobby opening up not far from this store. I hated it, because I purchased all my yarns here, materials, canvas, etc. I'm not sure how the Walmart generic yarn is.

Looks like my local Wal-Mart. It isn't filled or straightened up...Lots of empty boxes and shelves...Wal-Mart has failed in its yarn section. Many many years ago, Wal-Mart took care of its craft dept, today it looks bad.

One tea or hand towel from the dollar store or thrifted, scraps of any yarn, optional button from your stash or old clothing (you can substitute a ribbon or a short chain of yarn for the closure), your imagination. That's all you need to make those oven door towels. Not worth $15 for a "kit", in my humble opinion. Spend that money on a carton of eggs. Yarns made in China will continue to be in shorter supply as time goes on. Pretty much anything made in China, with notable exceptions, will be so. India might be next to become more scarce. Best to get used to that and plan accordingly. Look for the things from Turkey and of course North America if you want to be more certain of future supplies.

My Walmart is redoing the store. I hate it. The shampoo, hand cream, make up is now over by home goods. They have clothes next to the groceries. Whose big idea was that? The yarn is non-existent (less than 1/2 row). I not going back to that store until they finish and hope I like what it ends up like. Going to have to travel further and go to another Walmart and hope not all the store are being redone.

Our Walmart yarn is almost gone. I've talked to the Walmart CEO and he said that people aren't contacting him or his staff in large enough numbers. If we don't want to lose our yarn we have to speak up people.

The cloth disappeared from Walmart, and now the yarn is slowly disappearing. I hate to see just one skein of a type/color. Most patterns need more than one! It is all so messy. Where is the employee/store pride? Or are the employees just so overworked, they don’t have time to keep it neat?

I totally agree about the unstocked yarn shelves at Walmart stores.Somebody should tell the yarn companys (super saver Bernat etc.) maybe they can tell Walmart to get the shelves filled

Wow! your store still has a lot of yarn, ours (in the new set up, they say it's what all the stores are going to look like) only half an isle or a little less and only on 1 side They are making it so you have to shop at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or Joanns We don't live close to an of these so only yarn shopping when I can go out of town or order online Not nice Wal-Mart 😞 😢

@@theYarnGeek No What I was saying is that our store got re-do/over hauled and was told that Wal-Mart is changing all there stores to be the same So we used to have a full isle (both sides) of yarn, and now we have only half or less of yarn and also only on 1 side But it's not just our yarn, but also fabric has been cut way back too! So I hope you can get what you want at yours for now, because it might be your store to get done next! 😞I am at least an hour from Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or Joanns So like I said I make a list and try to get what I need when I can get out

Agree! I’m using the dollar tree chenille in a blanket because it works in great with the weight of my yarn. Only problem is finding enough skeins to complete my project! 😅

The entire yarn thing is in a sad state. Now it’s only bland colors, worsted weight. About 25 years ago, there was a novelty yarn explosion, and there were several aisles at the craft stores devoted to it. At least the Mainstays yarns are accessible, and I’m doing craft projects where that yarn is useful. I miss all the wackadoo yarns!!! 😢

My local Walmart yarn department is depressing, it is down to about 12 different skeins of yarn. I am sure it was just a slip but Red Heart is not Walmart Super Saver. Red Heart Super Saver is owned by Yarnspirations, Walmart just happens to be one of the retailers that sells it.

Those are not Walmart Super Savers, that’s Red Heart. If you have the Walmart App on your phone you can scan barcodes and check prices. Your Walmart is much better stocked in the yarn aisle than mine is.

Yeah, the craft stock at the 3 Walmarts in my general area are either the same as this or worse. None of them have any Lion Brand aside from the Mandala cakes. I don't think the one near me has gotten in any new needles/hooks/notions since 2019, and none of them had that Pioneer Woman line even though the rest of her brand is pretty well represented in other departments. At least I'm lucky enough to live in an area with pretty much every other big craft store nearby, but they can get pricey (the most affordable was AC Moore & sadly they're gone).

Walmart s Mainstay has the best price but all the different fabric stores have downsized their yarn depth. Hobby lobby ha the super soft "I love this yarn" but the price is so high I just can't do it.

the Walmart in my town is the only place that sells yarn, and it's display looks like what you are showing, understocked and small. I usually have to either order from redheart online, or drive 30 miles to the next biggest town, and go to Joann's which also sells redheart. sad really :(

hi is this a new isle? i never seen any of these at our Walmart. i think that's a really good price, but that's my opinion. and your Emmie is a cutie, she was very engrossed into her yummy cookie. hahhaha!, can i modify it to be on a loom, i think loom knitting is much quicker. but that's by experience! or even on a knitting machine.

Awesome M.H! I think that you will need to use a larger hook with that yarn… Maybr try a 9 mm hook with it instead of the 7mm so the stitches won’t be so tight? That yarn is so Squishy and soft and wonderful!

You all fussing about walmart yarn stock, don't you realize 1. The price of yarn has gone up and 2. Walmart is a department store that actually sells more than just yarn! If you want a fully stocked yarn store go to specialty stores like Micheals, Joann's, or hobby lobby! This video is nonsense!

My biggest issue with Walmart yarns is if you order pick up, delivery, get it shipped or in home, the pickers cannot count. If I order a 3 count lot of yarn and I'm ordering 3sets of them, than I should get 9 skeins... not 3! Is the math that difficult? 😜

The Lionbrand “experts” don’t know yarn weights as well as we are led to believe….anyone (like us knitters/crocheters) who know true weights know differently. I’ve used something that was supposed to be a 4 weight, for a pattern, had a ton of Lionbrand yarn from a friend, only to find out the hard way that it was a 2 weight. So trust your experience and self knowledge with yarn when it comes to Lionbrand, don’t trust the “experts”.

Walmart here doesn't have anything other than Red Heart Super Saver worsted weight which I have find to be too scratchy, a few acrylic bulky yarns, and some acrylic baby yarn. It takes up about a third of the aisle on one side. Color choice is very limited and it's just as bare as what you show at your store. Trying to find enough of the same color to complete a project is impossible. Not only that, the crochet hooks and knitting needles are even more limited in size and type. Not worth visiting my Walmart. I have to order online from other yarn and knitting suppliers.

It seems like my Walmart is not restocking. It seems like they’re just gonna sell until they run out of yarn and not restocking. That’s my worst fear because that’s the only place I can buy Yard as I don’t shop online and there are no local yarn shops in my town.
