it is very hard to convince someone in the late ages if we know the world more than them (based on the fact that we are facing unique and multidimensional challenges than they did) so we should know how to deal with these issues we have better and higher education than them and education is not just a piece of paper/degree but should also be used to develop own's personality and how to better deal the people around us

Well said. I think parents should be given a high status and more respect over children and there has to be a balance when explaining the relations and duties between parents, their children and daughter in laws. I do not think parents and children/daughter in-laws and even young ones vs elders should be lined up as equal status parties in our society as it happens day night in TV circus shows in the West and now a fashion in Pakistan to prove that parents and elders are ignorant, old rotten heads and do no care for their children. Although Ghamdi saheb is quite right when it comes to some parents' lack of proper knowledge and understanding of Islamic teachings and general awareness that how they should be behaving, treating and interacting with their children, especially when it comes to adult and married children but ignoring and not highlighting the high status and rights of parents as per teachings of holy Quran and sunnah and not educating what our children and their wives should be doing towards their parents is nothing but kind of promotion of liberalism and dilution of Western culture into Islamic teachings which always reflects in Ghamdi saheb's discussions and teachings. Also his inclusion of conditional word "Baahami" in this regard is not appropriate in my opinion. What I get out of it is that respecting and taking care of parents is subject to when parents do the same with their children. In other words, tit for tat and that one should not continue to treat others with respect and affection unless they get the same in return. It sounds like barter system, give and take business and it is only about rights. Such liberal oriented interpretation of Islamic teachings negates the high respect and status given to parents in Islam. I have great respect for Ghamdi saheb, but unfortunately, my respect for him is diminishing day by day due to his continued inclusion of liberal thoughts in Islamic teachings and traditions. It only serves and suits to the needs of his liberal followers. I also observe that this young man Ilyas ( Ghamidi saheb's son-in-law) who does not have enough background of Islamic studies and education and being promoted as an Islamic scholar, and now a new liberal pseudo Islamic scholar Hamza Abbassi who is teaming up with him for cheap publicity and recognition are not only hurting the reputation and bright and balanced side of Ghamdi saheb but also confusing and misleading Ghamdi saheb's followers and sending wrong message to non Muslims in my opinion. Islam is a beautiful and complete religion and it must not be interpreted as per our liberal or conservative needs or through any particular school of thought. speaknothingbuutruth@gamail.com
