After all these years, I have only just noticed Gethin Jenkins' little backheel at 1:10 to make sure the ball came back to the Welsh side. Brilliant player at the breakdown
Diolch Warren, where it all began, you've been outstanding to the players, other coaches and an asset to the nation, and boy have they responded to your actions ;) Diolch yn fawr iti! 3 Grand Slams, championship, QF and a SF in World Cup in 11 years speaks for itself.. He should be knighted, and an absolute gent ;) Cymru am Byth!
And shamefully, no new contract(s) for a *_single member of what has been the greatest coaching team for over 10 years!!_* Aren't we lucky we can *_afford to discard_* the most successful coaching/backroom team in the entire history of the 5/6 nations tourament!! *_(NOT!!)_*
Last thrilling 5 minutes at Millenium Stadium in Cardiff. The French are good but the Welsh are better. With respect, American Football fans, look at this and weep. Your game to me looks so much like trench warfare with armour. I see it vcos I loive in Canada. This Rugby Football is a game of movement. Enjoy this for ever. Cymry am byth. Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi.
This youtube video was very briefly and vaguely featured in the Welsh Grand Slam documentary shown on BBC Two Wales tonight. The pride is overwhelming; tears everywhere.
Wales and France were so much more entertaining then. And Wales got one of their many Grand Slams that year. I don't remember this match particularly well but I remember watching Wales come back from a very significant half time deficit against England. Also, I remember it was a year with some grounds for positivity by us Scots - we beat England that year.
5:56 Sums up this beautiful game for me! Absolutely over the moon celebrating but as soon as Lee Byrne sees the opposition he immediately consoles him, no gloating or anything. True sportsmanship.
That is what you call rugby! Outstanding play from MARK JONES, the Scarlets wing, Lee Byrne and Martyn Williams and the whole squad. WALES are one of the best teams to watch in the world! 75,000 people shouting and singing bread of heaven, awesome! Come on Cymru, come on WALES!!!
Duncan Jones! Makes you think how may caps The great Gethin Jenkins would have had if Duncan could have been relatively injury free. I believe twice selected for the Lions but had to pull out injured.
Gaz J Ik I’m late but if u play it at 0.25 speed u can see the French guy knocks it on but Ryan Jones is blocking our view of the ball when it comes back to Wales
Have you learnt a lesson not to think you're better than anyone? 'Now watch England whip your arse in the least match for us'. Oh, the irony. Priceless.
@taweraster well when Wales are playing at their best pre grand slam 2005 they only lost by 1 point to NZ and the grand slam 2008 they were in control against NZ for 50 minutes so when they play like this they can almost destroy NZ
We need a new law for Rugby Union, to stop dreadful time-wasting so many teams seem to have to do nowadays, which no one wants to watch.... How about this? Like football, where goalkeepers have just 6 secs to play the ball, we need a new law where, once the ref declares that the ball is AVAILABLE from a ruck, the team in possession has just 3 seconds to play it. I can hear the ref saying "Available... 1, 2, 3..." after which the defending side can come around and claim the ball.. Whaddya think?
Why thank you for your kind feedback...! OK FIVE seconds. P.S. If I could talk out of my arse, I'd be making money out of it. No need to be offensive you plonker
Now let's have all the supporters learn and speak our language every day and not just sing Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau. Please,Please, it's not hard. Plenty of help available.
@jammyman78 destroy nz? the last time that wales beat nz was in the 50s! im not even from the southern hemisphere but i dont need to be that biased to realise your chatting rubbish. shows how deluded the welsh are at the moment, until they start beating the southern hemisphere teams home and away they can forget all their dreaming of being a great team. dominance in the 6 nations does not mean world domination. ie england in 2011, win 6 nations, nowhere in the world cup
This was such an unusual grand slam in so many ways... coming back from the death to see off England, totally outlasting the Irish, and then massacaring the French. Who'dve thunk it?
Basic spelling and grammar are also lessons that should have been taught, but apparently you never quite got around to it. If you're going to be a smart arse, at least make the effort to do it properly.
