There is a funny story about this particular rendition: THIS WAS NOT THE SONG SHE WAS GONNA SING FOR THIS EPISODE. But the original performance was scrapped (what I heard was because her arrangement was too peculiar and the band was unfamiliar with the original song as well). So with the rendition underpracticed and only about a day left before the taping, they scrapped it all and KZ decided to call her friend for help, asking him to fly over from PH to be her accompanying guitarist. He immediately booked for a flight and arrived overnight. That is why you don't hear the band, only the percussions--because this performance was hardly practiced and KZ even thought she'd be eliminated in this episode. The guy who played the guitar--he is a very good friend of hers and also a fellow artist she would often jam with in gigs. That's why the guy played it so well and they're very much in-sync. They even repond to each others' verbal cues because this rendition is very very familiar to them (they play it in gigs).

One of KZ's fellow contestants in Singer 2018, Chinese singer (and musical genius!) Hua Chenyu, said that this was the best performance. One of the guys asked him, "...of the night?" He replied, "No, of the entire show."

Waleska saying she almost burst into tears - while actually Efra's whole body and heart worked so hard to not burst into tears in front of the camera. He almost couldn't handle all his emotions. Love him - and Waleska for their always so raw and honest reactions! 🙌

Fun fact, she asked her friend (the guitarist) to fly out and come to China to play the guitar. And the show praised her that the show have everything, musicians but she choose that. Her friend gets her, that's why she looks at him. And he knows

In the Philippines, as you probably know by now, there are many really good singers. But KZ Tandingan is one singer on a different level all her own. As you mentioned previously, she is a real artist. When she sings one song, she becomes that song. It feels like the rest of the world disappears and there's only her and that song.

Actually Kz's performance got a "Woww" tweet from a "Great big world".

I think what makes KZ such an amazing artist is that she has the musicality, originality, and the ability to perform that vision - but also intensity, personality, and this sincerity in wanting to reach people. She may not be the most popular artist in the world, but she is one of a kind. And everyone who has the HONOUR of watching her perform is moved, inspired, challenged, changed.

KZ's version of this song is so haunting. Like, the lyrics is beautiful in itself, but the way this was arranged just elevated those lyrics in a way where the song feels like an experience. It literally hurts.

That's when you can say she's a great story teller through singing, you cant understand the song since it's not your language but it gets to you... Someone mentioned before in a comment that the show's band can't put together her arrangement and she had to fly - in her guitarist as last minute decision.

KZ arranges all her own songs this cover was sprung on her 24 hrs before the show went live i think it was because she was doing so well if you look at her she has normal clothes in this as KZ is always far out with her clothes even her hair so she was not amused infact the lad on the guitar is one of KZ friends Makoy she got to play and learn this all in 24 hrs at least that is what i read on a Filipino fan site a while back.

She has this power to make you understand a song, the music.
