I think Sanjay Leela Bhansali is probably the only big director who cares about real music. And knows its importance. The only one who gives opportunities to new artists and fair chances to females also. And the good thing is his songs bring numbers also.
Topic missed: Female singers not getting enough opportunities n recognition in Bollywood. People don't hype them as they should. Lack of female songs especially romantic, love or sad songs. Today even Shreya Ghoshal isn't getting good songs in movies. No Sunidhi, No Monali.. why?? There is not a single female song in top 10 Spotify charts. Why?? Probably coz there songs don't get added to different playlists. The makers don't pay for promotion of those songs. For example the Neeti Mohan's version of 'Tu hain to' got popular and it has 1 million+ reels and the song is great still the male version is getting the streams on Spotify why?? Same with Sun rha hai na tu.. shreya's version has 450 million+ views on RU-vid but on Spotify male version is in the playlists hence more streams. Is it the fault of the audience?? Or of the streaming platforms?
Simply because female versions are good but male versions are best for those songs. There are also some songs where female versions are more popular than male versions..there are some reprise versions of the songs which are more popular than original versions. So it's not about the male or female, it's about which one sounds better to listen or which version suits more to the mood of the song. And people aren't getting good songs because the musical tastes of the masses have gone down.

This will continue to happen as long as we have female singers with the same screechy, high pitched ear-drum piercing voice. Nobody wants to listen to that shit anymore. There are only some singers who are a bit different, like Shilpa Rao. Ears don't hurt listening to her.
As a psychology student, it's good that you are able to figure out if you had any problem, but Deepika is not a psychologist so don't believe what these actors say. She has spread so much wrong information about depression and mental illness, and people just blindly believe it, I mean she is not from the profession she should only stick to what happened to her and not blabber anything else.
@@aditichoudhury3425 Thats totally untrue, we have a right to express how we feel about our condition. I had crushing depression, diagnosed by a psychologist and was prescribed anti depressants. These anti depressants are vile and addictive. I eventually explored psychedelics and a massive dose of acid completely cured my depression, it gave me my life back i cannot even fathom what i wpuld be today without lsd. Psychologists in India are unable to explore the power of psychedelics and how insanely SAFE and effective they are to take. A heavy trip basically was a reexposure therapy at the deepest human level possible, i saw things beyond the veil of reality, to survive that was insane and when i came back i was reborn, a baby sent back, my ghost wounds were healed. It is proof that you cannot think your way back from depression, its a complex PTSD like condition that takes you down with it and you cannot control it. Only psychedelics can be a total cure. If people in your profession explored this option more than the freaking addictive drugs, it would do the world a whole lot of good.

The most ridiculous loss due to this nepotism and corruption of Bollywood music industry is SONU NIGAM. After giving blockbuster song like ABHI MUJH MEIN KAHIN. Sonu Nigam's career was almost shut down by T series, Zee music because Sonu raised his voice on behalf of all the artists against illegal musical contracts. Can you imagine a singer like Sonu stop getting work at his prime time😢😢😢 It's the saddest loss for music lovers. And a lots of negetive messages, propaganda were circulated against sonu to defame his name considering his such hugeeee fan base. But see...there is always win of good. Now Those music companies had to come back to Sonu again.

I wonder if it's possible for singers to come together and create a music label. Like for example arijit ,sonu,alka, and monali establish a music label company. But again, it might be because the industry itself is rotten to the core, and it is very difficult to get into the competition and disrupt the market by not following the "rules".
Problem is people don't pay for music . We mostly consume music for free on RU-vid and free Spotify or jiosavvn . The production cost of songs and music videos is obtained through budget of the movie . Earnings from RU-vid are not much . Barely any people have Spotify premium
I'm not Indian, but I like watching Bollywood. And Also, many Bollywood Movies were played on Indonesian channel. There's dancing and singing. But most people think that the actors and actresess are the singer
Nepotism has been pushed by Karan as well, he seems to love his nepo babies, he is a massive producer but still supports nepos only, this trend has to break somehow as new money pours in and hopefully chases content over superstars. Big directors like Rajamouli and Sanjay have a huge opportunity to do so because people watch their movies based on their names, hopefully this aspect of bollywood changes for good.

They destroy good films because of their underperformance. It's the producers who need to decide better imo. In west, they have big studios for taking the casting calls and this issue is avoided to an extent, but here a Karan Johar or a Bhushan kumar is deciding everything from the casting to the music
I agree with you but to add to it its still a never ending debate.. Not every new actor or not so popular face is watched by audience in theaters.. Such movies ppl mostly wait till ott release no matter how good the movie might be.. Its hard for productions to get back the money they put in it! Most recently only munjya seems to have worked in theaters where ppl didn't really care about new faces or not big stars nd still the movie crossed 100cr.. She does sold-out shows everywhere. Her song in 2023 was the most streamed Malayalam song. She has 37.4 million+ monthly listeners(2nd to AS only) so it's clearly producers and MDs fault for not giving songs to females. Even if they give they don't promote.

Growing up in the UK during the 90s, I used to hope for the time that the Indian film/music industry would grow out of the nepotism and remake/copy era. Now I look at the “Nepo baby” debates in the west and the lack of originality with big budget mainstream Hollywood movies and realise that India was unfortunately ahead of the curve

Bollywood is always known as movie industry where music is integral part of it...... although actors are bigger in terms of fan following but singers are the most respected ones in India they gets paid well we just dont have music industry culture like other country.

If you know what happened to Govinda you will know how this industry works. Every Indian knows how talented Govinda is as an actor and dancer. But he is not getting work because of some people in the industry 😢. In many interviews he already mentioned about the discrimination but nobody gives a shit about it. They could give an important role to nepo kids but they will not give a simple side role to an actor like Govinda. I am a fan of his acting skills so I feel bad for him. And about singers 😅 no one even cares about good quality singer now a days, every one running behind remixes although some people like me love original songs many people love the autotune singers 😅 which is pathetic. I am from a region where I have my own regional language which has its own regional songs and dance forms and we used to listen to those instead of those fake bollywood songs. People who love original tracks go and check Sambalpuri songs track you people would love the bits. Why the hell always Sonu Nigam gets kind of a blame for Jubin's elimination. Its a media propaganda, a wrong message circulated just to bash Sonu. Only by getting 2 judges' rejection one contestant can be eliminated. Both Sonu and Shreya didn't vote for jubin in the next audition level and then only jubin got eliminated.
