I swear it’s like you smell the new makeup before it’s ever out on shelves LOL you are always the first to introduce me to new drugstore releases I love it!!! 😂😂😫
Julia Nell I’m literally going to turn on the notifications now that you said that! I love discovering new makeup and if she finds it all asap then I want to see every video LOL!! 🤣
I miss those days when beauty vloggers use to go and hunt down new products! So happy you haven't lost that! This is why your channel is number 1 as far as I'm concerned! Love you Emily😘😘
Emily!! Out of all the flashy new makeup that is constantly coming out, THIS video is the only thing that remotely got me excited. Similar to what you said about the adventure of hunting down products at the store, Wet n Wild reminds me so much of 10 years ago being in college and going to all the different drugstores to hunt down the limited edition stuff. I still love and use some of those palettes, lipsticks, and nail polish! There's just something so nostalgic about it. Now that I'm a bit older and can afford to buy whatever makeup I want, I realize I don't appreciate it as much as I did when it was a big deal to save up for and track down something special. Ugh, I need a good makeup chat! Come get coffee with me!!
Yes same !! Now that I'm older and I can afford better makeup I'm not as excited about it as I thought I would be ... I feel like companies are literally stealing my money and just selling me fancy packaging and cute names .... give me my makeup revolution wet and wild and coastal scents I'm good I will say I do enjoy the Revlon nail polishes though ... more color selection
@uglydoll Haha, exactly!! Nowadays I get bored and shopaholic-y and just buy whatever is new, even though I don't need it... and it just doesn't give the same satisfaction! In 2010 or 2011, Wet n Wild came out with a 3 pan eyeshadow palette called The Gilded Age (does anyone else remember it? google it!), and I depotted it years ago and put it in a Z-palette, and I actually used the main eyelid shade all these years later when I was getting ready for a business dinner the other day. Way more satisfying and nostalgic than any of the other tons of high end palettes I have! And it's interesting to revisit those makeup items as an adult, in your new "adult" life. Emily should make a video on that! Like, growing up with makeup, or 2009 vs 2019 makeup haha.
I commented the same thing before I saw your comment. The Rose' in the Air palette is considered to be a Modern Renaissance dupe, so it's logical that WnW was going for another ABH dupe. I have the Soft Glam palette, and I love it, so it's good to see a potential dupe that is more affordable. Cheers! ~Anastacia in Cleveland
With the most netural eye palette, my first thought was "Wow. They made a $5 of ABH Soft Glam". If i ever wanted those colors again, I know where to get them now. Also, the purple palette has been calling me.
@@k.hebert yes, Ive seen that one too. :) looks very pretty. No matter which one I go with, at least I wont spend as much money. Currently trying to hit pan on some palettes so I dont feel so overwhelmed with what I have.
Taylor Williams I hear that. I recently just did a HUGE palette declutter because I had so many and never used most of them, so I made sure to give them to loving homes! LOL. But I'm already finding myself wanting more! 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ it's a problem.... 😂
Taylor Williams YES! I ended up getting the dupe by Wet n Wild of Modern Renaissance and I’m so glad I did because I have barely ever used it. I would rather spend $5 not knowing if I would use something rather than $40-50 and find I end up not reaching for it as much. If I was reaching for it every day I probably would’ve bought the modern renaissance.
Oooohhhhh I love that purple palette! I’m so tired of the same old reds and oranges... I’m ready for purple to be the new it color! Great video, as always 😘
"Lip balm is the 'gateway drug' into the makeup world"!!!! Emily, I've been watching your channel for years and you never....and I mean NEVER fail to put a smile on my face!!!! God bless you, girl! xoxo
I get nostalgic watching your videos. Almost feels like I have grown up with you. I was a journalist back when you worked in broadcast and I could totally relate with you getting ready at 1.30 am speaking softly so as not to wake up your family. You've come such a long way!! And your family is just adorable!
THese palettes aren't even on the Wet and Wild website. You truly have a nose for new makeup. Those mini brushes are actually usable, which is cool. I traveled with the mini expert face brush last summer and it worked great.
They hype up all their collections so much I can’t believe I haven’t heard anything about these new eyeshadow palettes! I love the original ones they came out with so I can’t wait to check these out
I can always count on you for in depth and honest reviews without all the fluff or drama. Definitely appreciate all the work you put into your channel!!
can you do a look with the pinky purples in that one pallet from Wet and Wild? I love purples and I love pinks and any shade in between so I would appreciate it if I could see it tutorial with that one. Thank you
Good morning Emily!! Walgreens does have adorable stocking stuffer items!! And yes, I live in the Quad Cities, (Illinois), and we ended up with 14 inches of snow, and wind like you wouldn't believe!! The snow drifts are ridiculous, and the kids had two snow days in a row!! LOL!! It was crazy!! Glad you missed all of that mess!! Your messy bun looks amazing by the way!! Have a great week!!
Yes! I love that feeling when you find something new on a beauty isle! Wet n wild especially takes me back to highschool makeup & makes me so nostalgic! Excited to try out their new stuff, thanks for sharing Emily! 😊
Just finished watching your W n W Color Icon video from 10 years ago, what a difference a decade makes! Excellent tutorials then, excellent tutorials now!
I wish WNW had come out with an exclusively cool-toned palette, with more taupe-y colors. I have the CoverGirl CG Smoothers bb cream, and I love it for no makeup makeup days. It's very sheer but does help even skin tone, and has a nice dewy finish
Ma’am you’re at one million subscribers! I’m sooo happy and proud of you. I remember when you were still at the news and now you have accomplished so much. 👏👏👏💛💛
The covergirl quad that had orange, yellow, blue, and green. Ive had it for so long the name has worn off lol but when I need a blue or a green to pop that is what I use! Love it so much
That cover girl lip color in Forever Fawn has always been my moms go to lip color too!!! Thanks for the video rundown - I have been watching you for years and am grateful for all your hard work for your videos because they’re a bright spot in my days! I use your palettes often. I’ll be looking for that purple Wet n Wild palette so I’m glad to hear it was decent quality! Wet n Wild is probably my favorite brand ever (close tie with elf).
THANK YOU! Thank you for mentioning the fact that pigmentation is NOT EVERYTHING in eyeshadow, in fact sometimes it can be too much work and too risky for the average busy women to work with those shadows especially in the morning, rushing, half sleep, kids running around, needing to get to work on time. 💕💕💕💕
When you said that about lip balm being the gateway drug I laughed so hard and thought back to my childhood, growing up I wasn't allowed to use makeup but I could wear lip balm/lip glosses and now here I am, and I love makeup!!
I think I might have a problem with wet n wild. I see new stuff and I just HAVE to have it!! You just can't beat the price!! Also, the liquid catsuit matte lips are my absolute favorite at the drugstore for my long nights a work. Doesn't budge. Can't wait to grab some of the glossy ones!
I’ve personally found with some WnW shimmer shades wetting your brush and using the color like a paint you can make the color much bolder. I can make the blue shade in not a basic peach palette work that way and dry it is... not good.
These all love very dupey The purple looks like the ND Lila palette The blue pop looks like the ND Tropics palette And the neutral with the gold looks like soft glam
I'm totally going to buy the bath bombs you showed for my 21 year old married daughter :) Are you ever really too old for a snowman or star bath bomb? I don't think so!
For some reason, the mattes in all of the new W'nW palettes I've tried have all been consistently good, but the shimmers are hit or miss...sometimes bold & metallic, or a nice satin, others barely show up or come out of the pan onto a brush at all. Their old shimmer formulas were generally more consistent & shinier. We know they can make good ones, so what's deal?
Love these drugstore hauls! Gives great low cost ideas for Christmas! 🎄🎄 Thanks for always giving the best recommendations for the holidays ☺️❤️ That neutral palette from Wet n Wild reminds me a lot of the soft glam palette by Anastasia!!
I was just about to turn on any beauty RU-vidr (I had caught up on everything so it didn't matter) for my baby because he likes watching the faces and it calms him, and now we can both enjoy a video!
I think those 2 disappointing shades (purple and teal) are those “blackened” shades. The comfort zone palette had 2 of them too - they look a particular shade in the pan but come off as more black than anything else.
Pretty excited about shiny Catsuit lipsticks! When you were holding all four of those pallets and waving them while talking (I talk with my hands too!), I was so afraid they'd go flying and break! At least the brushes are resilient when they escape and crash to the ground. :)
I saw a new video from you and Wet’n’Wild in the title and clicked immediately!!! I love when they put out new stuff because they’re products are usually such good quality! Thank you so much for the video! Stay warm :)
Hi Emily! Your comment about lip balm being " the gateway drug to the makeup world" made me smile! Your humor and your genuine attitude are what make you so endearing! I love your videos!
The 2nd pallete you showed is my absolute favorite. The real and purple I love so much. I just pack them on with a wet brush. I don't blend shadows like that, I just pack them. If you apply them like me, they are FANTASTIC. I love them
The palette she showed “stop playing it safe” reminded me of a palette I own from Beauty Glazed that is also very affordable. The palette is called Strelitzia and is soo pigmented if you like the shades in that palette but with more pigment punch I’d recommend that palette.
I can't wait to find it at my local Walgreens or Walmart. I always get giddy about seeing new Wet n Wild products, it's just a wonderful brand that I have been using for over 20 years, that gets me excited no matter how old I get.
We don’t get these beautiful gift sets in the U.K. that you get in the USA. I have a story... When Tyler unboxed those bath/body works soap I have to tell you about my daughter. Foam soaps are pretty new here & my daughter had used one at a family friends house who had been to the US on holiday & she fell in love with it so much, she put it on her Xmas list! Well, I couldn’t afford to pay for shipping so she couldn’t get one, next time my friends went back on holiday to America a few years later, she bought her one & gave it to her for her birthday! I’ve never seen a 13yr old get so excited over soap, bless her. It’s on her Xmas list again this year 🙈 I know I can’t get it & I laugh cried at Tyler’s unboxing over it lol. x
If you search online, there are ways to make foaming hand soap out of regular soap and water as long as you have the foaming pump bottle! Next time you manage to find some for her, keep the bottle and "make" the soap. From what I know, you mostly just need soap and water. The foaming pump does most of the work for you. Google can help with ratios. If this is about something other than foam handsoap, I'm not sure how to help, but etsy may stock it in the UK if other stores don't. People on etsy make so many things.
Yay, love drugstore hausl!! Love WnW! I still use Walking on Eggshells and Sweet As Candy from way back when! I bought a couple of the quads from this new formulation/packaging and honestly, the pigmentation wasn't great. Oddly, they barely showed up. My Walgreens didn't have these bigger palettes out yet, so I'm curious to try these out! Especially that purple palette! Thanks Em!
Eeeeek! I am a long time Wet n Wild eye shadow palette collector. You wouldn't believe all the limited edition items I have from them and women never use. I just love to collect them.
I find that using a short, dense brush in tiny circular motion really helps to make those muddy or lightly pigmented colors really show up. Also a setting spray or finger application can help with some.
You are the best makeup reviewer I have ever watched! I enjoy your tutorials so very much. I love your vlogs as well and your BEAUTIFUL FAMILY. YOU ARE JUST A JOY TO WATCH EMILY.....XO
I was so excited by the title of this video -- I remember for years how your first "Walgreens Haulgreens" video was the most popular one on your channel; I would always go back to it whenever I wanted to revisit a good ol' fashioned makeup haul. So happy to see this updated & revamped to include a tutorial too! Also, I purchased the mini buffing brush & eye duo just recently and am loving them so much...might need to grab the blush brush too!
I cracked up at “lip balm is the gateway drug of the makeup world.” It certainly is. Other than Lip Smackers, Cover Girl clear mascara was my gateway drug! My aunt bought it for me (my mom wouldn’t) and I’ve been makeup-obsessed ever since!
I'm really looking forward to the CoverGirl video. I miss the Full Face/One Brand type series you used to do. I would love to see more of those. Even brands you've already done would be fantastic! It wouldn't be repetitive since we know brands are releasing new products all of the time. They were some of my fave videos :) I hope everyone had a great day
Those colors look great on you! Thanks for the tutorial & tips. (I'll use your palettes to recreate this look, along w/lt.blue from older Milani gemtones.) I have 2 WnW I love- old C.Zone & new Walk.onEggshells, so don't plan to get new, BUT love the cedar highshine Catsuit. I think I'm gonna be w/your mom on the C.G. lips- Forever Fawn looks promising. Great gift(& travel)ideas also.
Oh that covergirl lipstick was my grams absolute favorite!!! She wore a hot pink color ❤️❤️! I never tried it but every time I pass it I smile 😊! Sweet memories
Oh my gosh. Ya'll. I just tracked these down You need this in your life. The "my glamour squad" palette is beautiful and smooth with very little fallout and the liquid shadows are better than any primer I've ever tried. I can't even describe how much I love them! I did what Emily said and got one close to my skintone and another slightly lighter to brighten up my under eye area. Dries down beautifully and the shadows just glided right over. 💖💖💖
I do have one of the new liquid cat suit shadows in a very pale duo chrome-y lilac pinky shade and it’s so pretty! It’s similar to Emily’s nail polish color lol!💜💜💜
I picked up the real techniques mini brushes a few weeks ago and they work very very well..The mini blush brush is absolutely amazing... I love it more than the full size version
Great video as always! I do remember and still have comfort zone. LOL I love that palette. The green in that palette with a damp brush on the lid is amazing! One of my favorite that I haven't thought of in a while. I found the comfort zone palettes again in the drug store months ago and grabbed them. I love WNW make up for sure. I am going to Walgreens for sure. LOL Thank you Emily!! I really enjoyed this video alot!! And you are so pretty I didn't even see your bun. LOL
Hi Emily! I came here because Beauddiction was showing these palettes on her Instagram and she mentioned that you did a video. She said they are dupes for Soft Glam and Prism from Anastasia and the other two are Natasha Denona Lila and Tropic dupes! The comparison swatches are insane
Always interested in your drugstore hauls! It seems like it takes forever to find new stuff locally. Ulta is usually the first to get new products when they do carry brands but mainly online and not in store first. Aagghh! Definitely checking out the bath bombs, too.
