as promised, a bit of a walk around my dads garden railway, a look at some of the bits and features. it is a pretty cool thing although will take a lot of looking after and keeping running. think i would rather just go and visit every now and then......

What a fantastic garden railway and real quality engineering, very sorry to hear that your dad passed away.

Thanks for uploading- it's good to be able to get a better understanding of the layout. And what a great layout it is, too - hats off to your dad. Hope 2018 sees plenty of action on it. Thanks again.

good stuff, glad you enjoyed it. it should get plenty of action, the red electric train is great, always ready to go for a spin if anybody visits......cant see it getting too much action from the steamer though....not for a while yet......

petesplace55 Yes the electric loco makes things easy to go for a spin, I suppose. A lot longer wait with steam! Still, all those winter nights on the way should provide a chance to crack on with the steam loco. Love the layout- nice and interesting. I'm planning mine but I have a similar level difference around the garden as your dad does. Could get rather industrial! I also need to span a driveway with some kind of swing bridge - it would be great to know more about the structure your dad used for that. Thanks again.

maybe over the summer on a nice evening we will go and have a proper look at the bridge and see how he has designed and constructed it and we will show you how it works. its all interesting, just too cold at the minute to faff around. Remind me if you still want to have a look sometime in the future.....

petesplace55 Just realised I misunderstood your last post so I removed my reply! Yes - it would be great if you do find time to do a video of how the bridge is built. One for the summer as you say! I'll stay subscribed and look out for it. Many thanks.

no problem, badly worded from my point of view, my dad wouldn't mind showing you around it anyway i'm sure however we could do a video first and see if that was enough of an idea......

I love the interaction between Pete and his dear Dad. Great little layout. But I note that there has been little in the way of uploads recently. Hope you're both doing fine. Looking forward to seeing that steam loco going. But yes, I do love that electric loco too. Lola likes the train too! I've subscribed too, this is one of my favourite haunts on RU-vid.

Thanks for the comments Deebz270 they are much appreciated, i pass all of them on to my dad. He has been trundling on with the build as you can see in the video that i have just posted but it is slowing down a bit. we were going to wait until it was a rolling chassis and try the pistons/ cylinders mechanism on the track (not powered but just pushing) but that may be a way off at the minute so the last video is a quick look around to see where he has got to......thanks for watching.....

Firstly, great railway, love the tunnel and bridges especially. Could you advise what sleepers you used? They look plastic with fixing chairs? Thanks.

thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed it. not sure about the sleepers, my dad isnt around anymore to answer any questions on this. they look like little bars of plastic to me with small plastic fixing unions for the rails. although i have no idea where they came from...
