Joy to see you used my late husband Michael's song for your graduation! He would be so happy to have been a part of your special day.! God Bless you Brigette.
D o you mean this video or the song itself, because the song originally done by the Left Banke written by the group's then 16-year-old keyboard player Michael Brown (real name Michael Lookofsky) was put out in 1966 I was 13. By the way you should hear the 4 Tops version also.
I think many of the commenters sensed it but there was some genuine magic going on here! Times like these are all to rare in our lives. In years to come you will look back at this video and remember 🙂
@@jojowhite9296 Good music prevails no matter what decade or century we grew up in. We had the best in the 60's and 70's. Kids are so freaking stupid today, they listen to garbage 🗑 and think it's good. A toddler can perform better music! Think about it. Why did dozens of performers do "Walk away Renee"?
I wasn't born until 1977. Lol. My dad always listened to oldies especially when we were would go on a family vacation or just going anywhere in his vehicle. I hated the music back in the '80s and '90s. But now, I cannot get enough of my dads music. The voices back in the 60's we're actually singing. Today, it's mostly rap, r&b, and auto tune.
This song came out when I was 13. It was basically the story of my life at the time. Hearing you play it brought a tear to my eye. You guys really did it justice. Thank you.
In the key of "G major", which is the key you are playing, the second chord on guitar is "D" major & the 3rd Chord is "F" major. Only the bass line descends. Also, on the chorus, it's okay to stay on the "G" chord but on the record, the second chord is "D" major before you go to the E Minor.
It is difficult in the original key of A (although not for the Four Tops and Eric Carmen). I find a lot of the videos on RU-vid like this one lower it to G as does DK Karaoke.
A fine cover version. I dont know who that flutist is but tell her she is lovely and she has some of the most beautiful legs I have ever seen on a woman. : )
That Rickenbacker 360 is beautiful! I am guessing but is that one of the original 1960's Rick 360 with the double binding...before Rickenbacker went cheapo and changed the design of the 360 to those ugly ass curved edges to save a few bucks? I don't think I recall ever reading or hearing about Rickenbacker issuing a 1963 or 1964 Rick 360.
@@suzannevilicich7637 Oh come on you must be joking. Faffing around with their notes, guitars twanging, and basically bumbling along until they decide to start. The bass player doesn't know the lyrics and the lead singer/guitarist making excuses for the flute. Absolutely pathetic. If these are professionals then they need to get another producer/manager.
Awww be nice. Back yard party. Credentials of musicians can not be disputed. This is what we call “jamming for fun” my daughter had not played her flute since 5th grade!! My husband is on bass and he’s travelled the world playing with every band you love including Fleetwood Mac. Admit this was not rehearsed. Yet we sure had a great time!! Maybe you had to be there. Peace brother and love.
I'm a guitarist over 45 years of playing. These guys are fantastic! Exact chords to this song, and the singing is very good. Great respect to the lead singer with the Rick! Just keeping it real for you Anti. Peace.
