22:20 I used to know Carole (& her sister Chris) Spearing from when we were at school in the 70's. Chris & I were very good friends and now, I believe, she now lives in France. Great video of days gone by and even the name 'Andy Barr' rings bells!
Wow... that was brilliant... love seeing the history of my home town. Found some of what I was looking for in regards to Alfred rd where my great grandparents, grandparents, my mum & uncles & aunties lived. This is very special. Thanks. Would love to hear from anyone who had relatives on Alfred road & Rankin street. 👌👍😎
@@andybb I'll send that info to my uncle,, he might be interested as he's on Facebook. Unfortunately as much as I'm interested in the history stuff that you do which is awsome, I don't do Facebook. Messenger is the closest & only thing I do, but thank you so much for the useful information. I think my Aunty might be interested too.. so I'll let her know too. 😎💝👍👌
Great video. Put together georgraphically really well. Bit like my own childhood, we moved to the Pouton area from Seacombe. Saw my old house on Oakdale Road a couple of times next to the washouse and the pipe cleaners. Off licence oppposite was called Johnny Rodgers on the corner of Ashville and Oakdale.
Amazing Andy! Born and lived on Shakespear rd in Seacombe until I was 16. Then moved to poulton by Somervile school. Brought back many memories... Thanks
My Uncle, who emigrated to Canada, worked in the re built Gandy. Think he might still be in touch with one or two people who was also there. Are there many ex- Gandy workers out there ? Or relatives of those who did ? 😎👍
Really enjoyed this. Our Photography club Wallasey Amateur Photographic Society was formed in 1904 (120 years ago this year) and the location was 110 Brighton Street part of Beaufort Terrace, that appeared on your video. We have no records of that era, do you by chance have a photograph of that shop, William Hayes an optician who also sold cameras? Thank you Mike
I'm a member of the Wallasey Historical Society and have just converted the second batch of glass slides I did find a modern version of Beaufort Terrace dated c1955 it's on my Facebook site facebook.com/groups/174935362716856
What it's like to live in a society, a community. This current nonsense will end in flames and the elites will rue their arrogance when they no longer exist
I deleted a comment I made earlier, Andy, because I realised the video had started halfway through for some reason, so I missed the photos of Poulton. Great pictures - I'm even in one of them!
Really enjoyed the video and surprised to see Hope Cottage @ 35:50. One of my distant ancestors lived in it around 1830. Does anyone know when the picture was taken?
Thank you for your prompt response. I will be able to access a paper copy. Have you any idea what month please so I can narrow down my search please Thank you
