It’s been 45 years since Peter Tosh and Mick Jagger worked up this amazing duet. I still get chills from listening to “Don’t Look Back”. That’s just how it is.
@@kelsonlaborde8645Peter and Mick Jaggers version is better than the Temptations original version. I don't care what anyone says cause Peter Tosh is the King of Reggae 💚💛❤️ however I'm glad Mick Jagger and the Stones are still rocking and shocking plus I heard Mick celebrated his 80th birthday this year in 2023 and this year is Peter's 36th anniversary of his death at the hands of Tosh's so called friend Dennis leppo.
RIP Peter Tosh, gunned down by some bad boys. I understand that Peter was busted with someone else, who agreed to take the rap as long as Peter was going to take care of his family and people when he was in jail. He didn't do that and so he got a bam bam. Correct me if I got the story wrong.
I still remember Tosh singing this on "SNL" back in the late 70's. Mick came onstage as a total surprise to the audience for his verse, and that still stands to me as one of the coolest(perhaps the single coolest)moments in SNL history.
The places behind you let them re-remind you If your first lover broke your heart, There's something that can be done. You don't run it, you don't hide it, you don't run it Don't end your faith in love because of what he's done. So if you just put your hand in mine, We're gonna leave all our troubles behind. Keep on walking and don't look back. Forget about the past now. Don't look back, baby. Keep on walking and don't look back The places behind you let them re-remind you.
Never get tired of hearing this song. I'm 64 years old and still remember hearing it years ago and have loved it ever since. Yeah Mick and Peter (RIP).
You can tell drugs was the glue in their friendship and music collaboration. Peter tolerates Micks shenanigans a lot in this video, that means he’s spent time with him and understood his background and personality. Besides, it’s on record that British & Jamaican people get along pretty well, it precedes colonial ties, they just get along, it’s so strong that the Patios lingo dominates black-dominated areas in the UK. Anyway great collaboration, one is a kid from trenchtown🇯🇲and the other is a kid from Kent🇬🇧 coming together through music. I rate this song 9/10 👏🏾
When he landed in Swaziland, he stepped off the jet with a fat joint. Fans on the tarmac (designated area) were happy and shouting. One fan shouts.... "who gave you permission?" (to be smoking the joint) Peter just took a big drag, held the joint high and said *"I am permission "* . Well... let me tell you.... EVERYONE at the concert got high. Whether you smoked or not. One of the best concerts of my life.
Yeah and about as graceful as a an hippo with a broken leg A man and a band who havnt recorded anything approaching decent since Tumbling Dice A prolific singles group 60s 70s but never recorded a complete lp worthy of brilliant 2 first lps best but mostly covers Peter Mckintosh has recorded several superb lps Legalize it being the best
@@mathieusauvage2879the devil is the accuser : Jagger just wants to hang with his Friend, and also Peter Tosh wanted fame so, we might not even heard about Tosh of it wasn't for mick jagger; he was on his label
Either you have fun, feel happy and act vital or not, there are no alternatives in between. Love this song, appreciate those who gave it us, God bless them all.
Kennedy Beatone Africa Phiri--I can't remember where I put my keys. I hear this song, & I can remember who I was with & what we were doing. I have loved this song for a long time.
I haven't forgotten Peter Tosh. Been listening too him and Bob Marley since I was 8 yrs old. My older brother played Marley and the Wailers, Peter Tosh, and other reggae artists all the time. Still listening.
I'm 41 years old. I've been listening to him since I was 12 years old and have some lovely vinyl now. Much love all, we were blessed with the presences of this brother. Jah Ras Tafari ❤️💚💛
I remember hitch-hiking from Brighton, with my gf and her toddler daughter, and the van driver had this playing. It became "our tune" and recalled a magical summer. Life ain't like that any more.
Will never forget his concert at the Sydney music bowl Melbourne in the 80s and there were more ppl outside listening to him than inside as many of us couldn’t afford tickets, so Peter told security on stage to open the gates and let ppl hear his music free, absolute gentleman
I was lucky enough to see them perform together in '78. Tosh opened for The Stones for their show in Myrtle Beach that year and Jagger came out to do this one with him.
Brother Teach Dem, try to squeeze in brother Peter Tosh in your introduction. He's one of the main stones that helped to build the foundation of Reggae music. plus he also played a great part in legalizing the herb which is now a big contribution to tourism and Jamaica's economy. Big up yourself brother Teach dem. love what you are doing. You are giving Jamaica more recognition in a positive way. From day one watching your show I have been saying you are creating history. "Real ting!"
My son told me about seeing ska band in Victoria, BC last night. Got me remembering how much I loved reggae and Peter Tosh. Decided to do a video search of Peter and came across this. Never saw it before. Amazing! Love it. So glad I found it. Im 77.
This right here was a magical moment! I am from the Caribbean and I feel like Mr. Tosh doesn't get the credit he deserves...I see no issue with 2 musicians from 2 very different walks of life collaborating on something so wonderful! We are no longer in the 1800's! Race doesnt matter!!!! ONE LOVE, ONE HEART WE MAY LOOK DIFFERENT ON THE OUTSIDE BUT WE ALL GOT RED BLOOD FLOWING THROUGH US.
when i started walkin at 2yrs i was actually hearin the record music dad playin.. Peter an Mick sayin walk an dont look back...1977 till present2024..signs are there to remind you...R.I.P. Peter _-_Dad...still walkin..bless up...
I meet Peter T. In Aeroplane from London to Kingston in Schwitzerland was he after Bob .M. number 2 and he play in the 1980 for free after the concert in Zürich AjZ and had Hasch- Basuka . Rip in peace ☮️.
For sure. SawTosh at the Roxy (night club) in Hollywood. Smokin the size of cigars on stage. Also, saw him open for the Stones "Some Girls" tour at Angel Stadium --w/ Etta James before Tosh. I was right in front of the stage . Tosh,Sly & Robbie Shakespeare --so very impressive !
Whatever one may think of the Glimmer Twins (Jagger & Richards), they gave the great tosh a lot of exposure when he opened for the Stones in 78. The albums Tosh recorded on Rolling Stones label (Bush dr and Mystic man) are among his best.
Have always turned back to this magic tune when I'm feeling down or blue about something because sometimes you just gotta walk and don't look back! Magic Music indeed!
rotflmao Mick you killing me! Forget the shoes! Put those shades back on! I just love Peter's strength and tolerance here! What a precious video! Thank you! R.I.P. Peter Tosh
+Dennis Watts It make me feel good every time I listen to it. Although I do like the copy from SNL so much more! They don't have it on here which surprises me.
Ah yes man, I luv dis sound and really cool seeing a young Mick getting into the spirit. Special thanks to my friend tuktukskagal for sharing this very cool old school music. Straight to my fav's.
There was a massive falling out between Peter Tosh and the Rolling Stones in the end. There a very good BBC radio documentary presented by Don Letts about Peter Tosh.
This is classic, one of my favorite tunes performed by Peter tosh, written by Ronald White and William Anderson, performed previously by the Temptations a capella. On another note we have "British Rock Star Sociological Exhibit 101- the cocaine strut, performed flawlessly by a well known heavy cocaine user at the time- Mick Jagger" LOL. Hey man, don't kill the messenger ;-)
