On Thursday we were asked to perform the Canadian National Anthem at the World Cup of Hockey finals. We feel so grateful to have been presented with such an honourable task. Many of you have been asking where you can watch the performance. Well here it is, courtesy of CBC.

They play different versions on the announcements at school which is annoying. The American anthem sounds too patriotic and a lot of heart was put into the lyrics.

the thing is, national anthems are something that large amounts of people should be able to sing in unison. a lot of the patriotic feeling from the anthem comes from you and all your neighbors simultaneously singing the same hymn. so when you can't follow the melody of the song, it quickly goes from an anthem to a performance. Which not all people will be a fan of

That's the best rendition of the anthem I've ever heard. You guys did something different yet stayed true to the song and actually made it fun and not just a typical anthem performance. GREAT JOB!

This is by far the greatest version/interpretation of "O Canada" I've ever heard! The singing and harmonies were outstanding. The passion in their performance really gave a bounce to lyrics which are already meaningful. Canadians and outsiders alike can appreciate the beauty in this rendition of a song dedicated to a land and it's people.They really made their homeland proud!

I was not aware of WOTE, until I tuned in for the Hockey Game, I was intrigued, and immediately started to Google who this group was. A few hours later after watching their videos, I was hooked. Great young group, great rendition. Artist are allowed to make changes to put their unique expressions to a performance. Well done.

We've fought many wars since then. Women have died in combat since then. Maybe the line was put in there to honour veterans of what was then a recent war, but history did not stop.Why would you exclude our veterans from Afghanistan? Also, women did die in service during WWI: "When women chose to enlist in the military, they also volunteered to potentially put themselves in dangerous situations where their lives were on the line. Canada’s nursing sisters in particular found themselves in peril, as they often served in field hospitals close to the fighting. More than 40 of these brave women died during the First World War, losing their lives in enemy bombardments of field hospitals, attacks on shipping and due to the sickness that often comes with the harsh conditions of war. The Second World War would see many more women participate in the military with one nursing sister, Sub-Lieutenant Agnes Wilkie, dying when the ferry SS Caribou was torpedoed by a German U-boat while crossing from Cape Breton to Newfoundland. I often viscerally dislike it when artists take liberties with national anthems...but this was beautiful! And frankly, while they swing the rythmn and dont stick 100% to the melody, the melody was close enough as to not make me rage.

It's always a fine line when someone does the anthem and tries to make it their own. Some do decent, and some are the shits, you guys hit it out of the park (or arena)! Well done!
