Keep up the good work, ordered some LC the other day. Gonna get my feet wet with an alfalfa mix since I couldn't find any soy hull. Napkin math sez my living room corner would be enough fruiting room for ~10 lb a week, should hold 4(min,6 if i got floor to ceiling) levels of 5 12 lb bags. Bit of a lofty goal right out the gate, but I figure that level of system/procedure would be the minimum level necessary to expand beyond that living room corner anyway. Frankly at this point in time, I just want some project I can toil away on and forget about the world at large.

Depends on the strain. Andrew pulled an oyster strain syringe out of the fridge that had been there for something like 9 months, and it was still viable. Don't really know the hard upper limit yet.

Also depends on storage conditions. But generally, anywhere from a few months to a few years. Not exactly an answer, but that's how it goes...

Can you grow mushrooms using corn as a substrate? If yes, how do you make them fruiting? The colony takes forever to colonize the corn in the 5lbs bag. Then I transfer this bag to the box and it stops growing. They moss take over the mushroom even the mushroom has a head start.

If you use much wheat bran, I would look at the Pack brand bagger. Thor is gluten intolerant and can't eat wheat....

I can have fresh oak sawdust from a small hamermill i have is it better than pellets?

Fresh oak is usable, but has a few issues. If you have it stored in bulk it becomes a big store for contamination, but the pellets are very dry and clean, so they are easier to work with.

Oh man it's so beautiful, my dream. I have declared my personal world war on fungi fly this summer, how do you deal with them? I head a pining cluster with well over 100 pins and they killed my little babys, those monsters, I need to come up with a fungi fly atomic bomb. It's a war!!!!

How? I mean, guess it depends which products you mean. His 10 ml LC syringes are $20, which is pretty much standard across the board. Maybe you could get some for $5 -$10 from Reddit or something, but sketchiness varies with that approach. Don't know about the other products, but culture prices seem fine.
