So proud of my mom that, despite her pain and disability, she thoroughly enjoys walking in the beautiful surroundings of barcelona
On our way we will pass Plaça Tetuan, the Arc de Triomf, Parc de la Ciutadella, La Basilica de La Mèrce, Passeig de Colom, the Columbus Monument, La Rambla, Plaça Reial
* La Sagrada Familia is a basilica under construction designed by the talented Antoni Gaudi. The started building this beautiful iconic church in 1882. After the dead of Gaudi, they continued the construction in 1926.
During his lifetime he made a number of designs, models and drawings, as if he knew he was going to die before finishing the Basilica. They hope to finish the Basilica in 2026, but due to covid-19 this date is unlikely to be met;
** Plaça de Tetuan is a major square in Barcelona. The square's central area contains the Doctor Bartomeu Robert monument by the sculptor Josep Llimona. Doktor Robet was the Mayor of Barcelona in 1899;
***The Arc de Triumph was designed by Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas in 1888 as part of the World Fair;
****Parc de la Ciutadella is Barcelona's largest park. Centrally located in the park, you will find the beautiful fountain de la Cascada. You will also find in and around the park, a zoo, museums and the Catalan Parliament;
*****La Basilica de La Mèrce is a basilica built between 1765 and 1775 for the mother of God of Grace (Mare Déu de la Mercè).
